The first season is really good.  I liked the twist at the end.   I started the 2nd but it didn't look like it was going anywhere so I stopped.

Which version is that Patrick?

I've finished the first disc of Read or Die, the TV. I'm not sure if I will watch this again. But I do really like the intro music. Makes me wish I would even try to play that on my bass. Maybe I will. Keep this up though, I may watch Gad Guard, because I really like that music! I love walking bass lines!

Watched "Beer for My Horses" last night. lol. See Claire Forlani with a southern drawl! lol. Hey, I had fun.

Tonight it's Kung Fu Panda.

Umm, watched one episode of Glass Fleet. Hope to watch more tonight.

I liked Kung Fu Panda. It kind of felt like an intro to Chinese Martial Arts Films. lol But I wonder if James Hong dies, what are we going to do for actors to fill ethnic Chinese roles?

Glass Fleet, I think you'd call it war for girls, or shoujo something. Bishi boys and war. Gee, what's not to love eh? All right, I've watched 4 discs so far, and found that the story doesn't bog down too much, and the creators haven't let things get out of hand, like some anime do.

Some of you won't be able to handle it. Especially the how so and so grew up. You may be thinking hmmm Caligula?  :o :o :o

Started watching Zegapain last night. Insomnia had it so I could watch a disc and a 1/2. Almost as difficult to fathom as Serial Experiment Lain, but not quite. It didn't hurt to deal with, besides it is rather OLD SCHOOL and in go back several centuries to millenia to know this, or at least to where Old English was the language of the land, over there. Sorry, it's hard to speak of this without going into the differences in how we speak today, and what thought processes we used back then, that they are so different from today. But it takes modern science fiction to bring those back to today. Basically I think Deeds Not Words best sums up what I am watching.

It's also definitely more shounen and not shoujo as compared with Glass Fleet.

I do think there will be a large surprise twist in the plot later, I am just not sure how they are going to perform this.

Let's see, watching at home Glass Fleet, I think this concluded. Seems to have come to a logical conclusion. Had an anti-climactic climax.

Zegapain, leaves a lot of basic questions unanswered. Have to really let loose on the willing suspension of disbelief.

Pumpkin Scissors! And I know why too! The name may have helped i Japan, but I think it was detrimental to aiding sales in the US. Too bad, it is a good show. But... the government is a definition of FASCISM.

I think the show has done well to show the good and bad of such a method of governance.

Any form of government can be good, it all depends on how it affects the people. If everyone is in agreement, it's all good. But... it only takes a few who dissent, to show how messed up most forms of government actually are. Republics must be pretty good, as we go as high as 49% of people who do not like how we are doing things, and we still muddle through somehow.

I always thought the Stellvia OP won out for the best Japanese yodeling song.  I listened to the Paranoia Agent OP and have to agree it is definitely a contender.  I wonder if it is a style of singing similar to yodeling?  Anyone know?

Been watching Aquarion. If you are a religious fundamentalist, stay away from this, as it takes freely from the Judeo/Christian, and possibly Islam creation story, and the fall from grace, to make a sci-fi futuristic piece. Me, I have a hard time wondering what angels, and I only guess they are angels, need with a starship, to use a phrase from a film. Other than that, oh yeah, have you noticed that guys with orange hair are never cool, only guys with black hair, or all white? The main character reminds me of Kyo from Fruits basket, only he is in between Kyo's animal and human forms.

And oh great, Pumpkin Scissors is going to have a missing disc in Netflix. I may need to bug Wuntvor about seeing the episodes on the disc. HINT HINT! lol

I actually really liked "Speed Grapher"... I though it had a good story line and very good character development...

BUT, I also LOVED "Spice and Wolf" A TON. It has to be one of my favorite Animes.
I loved Spice and wolf aswell. I wish it was longer than 13 episodes. Tsubasa season 2 is next or mabey ghost hound.

Actually Spice & Wolf was 12 episodes with a DVD only special.  Kind of a pain, because Ayako still hasn't released episode 7.  I ended up grabbing it from Sudo instead.  I prefered Ayako's releases because of the end of episode notes and more literal translation style.  They went to great lengths to compare the anime to the novel.  The special episode Wolf and Tail of Blessing, I guess,  was only released on the DVD, and never aired.

ANN also seems to believe that a second season may be in the works.  I sure hope so.

Just finished watching Samurai 7.  I bought it at Kumoricon, but hadn't had time to view it.  I am thinking about watching Tactics next.  I watched about halfway through it on my fansubs, but never finished.  I also bought the box set of it at KC so I figure I aught to finish.   ;D

Thinking about watching The Punisher (2004) and The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951) to preparer myself before going to the theater.  I know that TDTESS definitely looks like they did some major rewriting, I'm not even sure nuclear power is even a topic in the new movie.

I watched My Neighbor Totoro with my wife the other night. Yes, that's right, wife as of this past Friday. She got a little too comfortable just after the Cat-bus scene, and fell asleep on my shoulder.

I watched a bit of Futurama, Bender's Game. Somehow other than the title, didn't remind me of the Orson Scott Card novel. But it seemed to reference just about everything else. No wonder it failed as a regularly scheduled program, too literate, and scientific. Just part of why I love it, eh?

Watching Kurau, Phantom Memory. Cool beans sci-fi here. I dare ya, go name your kid Christmas.

oooo I think Naruto Box Set 10 Uncut comes out this week. ooooooo

Watched this weekend:
The Day the Earth Stood Still. I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the original.
Delgo. I can see why this wasn't in the summer run of blockbusters.
Get Smart, this was funny to me the second time!
Journey to the Center of the Earth, seems they think that the original author was important. Better than I expected!
Finished Mushi-Shi. I may have to buy this series. I really liked it, even if I could not watch endless episodes back-to-back.
Started watching .Hack//Roots, took 3 episodes to get a hang of the story line. Now it is only guessing as to what's what. So far it is more meh, than must see TV.

I watched Starship Troopers III last night. So nice they spent so much effort to show the bad side of fascism. I think it was a large reason why this was a direct to video movie. Too bad, it was close to being comparable to the first film. Close, but not quite as it were. It beat the heck out of the second movie however. If you like the franchise, watch it. If you are a Robert A. Heinlein fan, you have my sympathies. I don't think there will be a IV though.
