I started watching Dan in Real Life last night. I am not sure if I want to finish watching it, as it seems like I have seen this train wreck before. But then maybe it is because it has Dianne Wiest in it. Dunno.

Not sure if I want to watch 80s classis anime, as it is listed on the polyester pouch the disc comes in. I think I have Gunbuster arriving today. If so, I think that's what will be on TV tonight.

My boyfriend and I just finished Kaiji after 3 months of watching it off and on.
SO GOOD! It's on my top list now. We're going to pick up Michiko to Hatchin again today and try to finish it sometime soon.

My bad it's Gun Sword, not Gunbuster that I was going to start watching last night. Feels better watching that than Dan in Real Life. This reminds me of so many anime out there, Saiyuki, any lone gunfighter western, that isn't a bad guy, any lone ronin samurai that isn't a bad guy, it has a super mecha in it, but it doen't really remind me of any particular other series.

I kind of like his name, it is the same as the start of my last name, Van! Can't beat that eh?

First episode of K-on was subbed today so I watched it. It was super cute, I'll probably try to keep up on it. I'm also continuing Michiko to Hatchin and picked up the first season of Digimon because I am a loser >: English too because that's how I remember it.

Gun Sword was a very good anime series. It made you think for a long time that things were going to wrap up in maybe the next episode for about 1/2 the series, but always managed to come up with inventive ways to prolong the agony of wondering what and when the end will come. Well written, and well animated.

Watched Dragonball Friday night, after watching the Blazers beat L.A.! Wahoo!

My wife even liked Dragonball. I didn't think she would. Goku's grandpa, played by Randall Duk Kim was a great addition to the cast. And I think Chow Yun Fat's Roshi was very good. It wasn't just like the anime, but it was a very believable character for this story.

I am very glad that the film makers didn't go back to the very beginning of Goku's story. We'd have to get to film #8, by the point in his story that we are at in this film.

I think that maybe they should get a better director for the next film. He lost me a few times with his rapid motion, it seemed he forgot to include his actors actions in some sequences, that removed some of the specialness of the scenes. Also too much use of digital pyrotechnics. They blurred what was going on too.

I think that having the creator of Dragonball as executive producer, helped with keeping the film canon to the story. It was Dragonball, it wasn't exact, but it was germaine.

I can see why it didn't get summer blockbuster release, but it got me to go to the theater. I can't say there is any reason for me to go until May first.

The Express was a good film. Go see it if you want more background on how race relations affected people who were not named Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Junior.

Am watching Air Gear now. It's good, but to me maybe not as good as say GunSword was. However the makers did work harder on background details, than most anime series do. But seriously, if you want to watch a film about gang life, go see the 70s film the Warriors.

Did you get volume 3 of Utawarerumono? Netflix still has it listed in the yeah sure you betcha pile, that never arrive, on my queue. I went and bought it. I really liked that, and I thought the extras were worth while, told you a lot of the why of things.

I got Disgaea, but volume one is missing, and I think it will be the same story as above. Wondering if I should bother, or go ahead anyway. But not tonight, Blazers on tonight! Then movie with my wife. Then...maybe.

I am watching the clock for when I can go home. Watching the generator make 2.2 megawatts of electricity, the boilers making 70 thousand pounds of steam every hour, and the chiller making 500 tons equivalent of chilled water per hour. And calling it all overtime.

I'm watching Hetalia Axis Powers. I wish the episodes weren't so short, but that would reduce the amount of cuteness it exudes >.< Maybe if there was a new episode three times a week or something, I'd be satisfied xD I just hate waiting a whole week for just a few minutes of awesome! @_@

Yeah, I got Volume 3, which I will probably start here soon. I just finished Volume 2 the other day. Really loving it so far, and I'm surprised at how quickly things progress through the episodes. Conflicts seem to arise and get resolved much quicker than in most anime. Not bad, just surprising.

And I will remember to watch those extras, which I'll admit I have not been checking out on the discs yet.

Yes Man. Haven't laughed like that to a movie in a while. Don't remember my wife laughing all that much though. I think she may have let me laugh for both of us. Dunno.

Watched Kai Doh Maru. I really liked it. For using computers to render the architecture, it had at times a pastel and manga feel to it, very different from most anime. Not sure if I understood the ending perfectly well, but...it still worked for me. It's just a 46 minute OVA. Too short!

Also Five Star Stories. This is older, say 1989, but I really liked this one too. May look a bit Gundam, but no, well only one or two continuity errors! Not enough to make me go HUH?!? Seems like an early CLAMP work in the way things are drawn. Another OVA just a bit longer at @ 1 hour. I would not call this Mecha, even if they are in it. They have more like a cameo role, not the main story.

I watched the second volume to Disgaea, the first one, well go ask Netflix, maybe they will tell you something, because they aren't telling me.

Geez, am I going to need a second on-line rental place to get the ones Netflix doesn't have, or to give me titles that I have to wait for? I think I better get some high-speed Internet first. The things you do for marital bliss, I tell you! lol

Tonight I have Stargate Ark of Truth, or Serenity. I am hoping to save Serenity for when my wife and I can watch it. I really don't know about Stargate, nor care enough to be sure we both can watch it.

I just finished Maria+Holic. I do have to say that most of the Shaft anime I have watched has never been lacking in hilarity. I'm also excited forever now that they announced there's going to be another season of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Next on my list is Black Lagoon and the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann movie. That and every new episode of K-on!, Basquash!, and Eden of the East that comes out.

I got to watch some mecha try to bust up the concrete out back here. Stuff is like 8 feet think and has massive rebar in it. Was so cool to watch that thing go. Was vibrating the whole building. Scared my boss into worrying that we would go dark because something was going to go oops. lol

My wife and I saw Battle for Terra this weekend. The animation and voice actors were both good. But...I could tell that no one who wrote the script had ever served in the military. I guess never let reality get in the way of a story. Bother.

We also watched a guy make a mess everywhere at the teppanyaki restaurant we went to in town. Benihana it isn't.

We'll go see Wolverine next weekend, when everyone els else watching Star Trek.
