Dude, you're way out west? Tigard's only a couple exits away from Beaverton on the 217, so I say get on over to Uwajimaya. Also, I've seen it at the Food 4 Less on 82nd, so I bet they carry it in their Washington County stores too.

While you're there, there's also a Hello Kitty aisle, a sushi restaurant, and a bookstore, where you can get manga and (very expensive) j-pop cds. Also, they sell Takoyaki there. You've seen Azumanga Daioh, right?

I was a visiting friend in Portland and they were going to the store and I said what store and he said a Store with “Many Tasty Things”, and his fiancé from Hong Kong whispered into my ear “yes you will see many scrumptious treats” and went to Uwajimaya and they had a lot of delicious stuff and food

Made perfect sense! It's like eggnog, any time other than the holidays and it is just a thick and odd drink-like substance; but around the holidays (for those who like it) it is the very ambrosia of Olympus! (My lit.nerditude just slipped through a bit, forgive me!)
But I must agree, Pocky at Kumoricon, despite it being the exact same product and brand that I would get any other time of the year, just tastes so much better! It has the essence of Kumori in it, which oddly tastes delicious! ^_~

When i have had a bad day I stop at Uwajimaya on the way home and it cheers me up! It can be overwhelming = a whole aisle of ramen!!! So start small - go get a box or two of pocky and some strange soft drink or something. And be sure to check out the bookstore. You will be back!

i bought:
- a fabulous, authentic bento box. hurrah! time to make bento ~
- a pair of cute, pink chopsticks with bunnies on them.
- large gackt calender. ♥
- a 2007 planner with little seals on it.

i also turned in an entry for their illustration contest, so if you happen to go on the 15th and vote, mine is the alice in wonderland one! : D!

Uwajimaya is very dangerous...too many fun & yummy things to buy. Chocolate Mochi is addictive.

When we're hosting Japanese students, we like to take them to Uwajimaya because they get homesick and the store is very similar to food stores you see in Japan (except there's also a lot of non-japanese asian stuff there as well). It's fun to see their :shock: reactions when they walk in there and figure out what kind of store it is.

I went to Uwajimaya last night to stock up for the meeting (and next months meeting) and ended up with 80 bucks worth of Pocky and a couple other snacks that caught my eye.

I'm sad because i haven't been able to get to (any) store that sells pocky for Months :c I'm going through withdrawals. I blame my shin splints on not enough pocky >:\ *stern look*

Although on one of the seattle trips I stopped for some bubble tea and if I hadn't been in such a hurry (of if I had noticed the pocky sooner) I would've bought some of the "man's pocky" X3 they had some, and I was mighty excited

Well, the more members we have down there the more likely we will be to meet. Right now I think its just Negima Chris.

Neko Chan can get there easier though, as can all of our friends over in Bend. Perhaps we can put together some sort of large event if I get enough cooperation.

The last Pocky Club meeting in Eugene was Valliegirl, Kendo Chris, superjaz and myself eating lunch in Gateway mall. We had all come down in the same car.

i really like reverse pocky, although the taste isn't quite 'exotic'. most recently, i bought the really frosted, fancy looking pocky ... pie-snow?

Fran makes the Pie snow flavors.

Fran is not made by Pocky, but a different company called Meiji. Meiji has some lame knock off Pocky products but Fran is high end.

Fran is different in many ways. First off they start with a bigger cookie stick. Then the stick is coated a smooth yogurt layer before the final layer of flavoring is applied. The flavors of Fran are not as dramatically different or as varied as Pocky but they are quite good. Its best to think of Fran as a sort of "gourmet" high end Pocky.

Early on in Pocky club's history, Jaz returned from Japan with some blueberry Fran and it was AWESOME!

I think that they've given up on Reverse Pocky. They tried marketing it as its own product, Poare, but it never really took off. I loved both versions and I noticed some other similar products but haven't bothered trying them yet. I think the most infamous novelty Pocky so far was Pocky G. Everyone called it Gangsta Pocky but really it just had a crispier stick.

Mustash, I'm very sorry that you won't be able to make it to the meeting on Sunday. that just means that your parents HAVE to let you go on the road trip I'm planning for later!

no wonder pie-snow didn't taste quite like pocky. the stick was a lot softer...as least, that's how i remembered it. it was pretty to look at though.
