Wow, there've been some crazy posts here.  Do I need to break out the taser?

*Checks Japanese dictionary* You're right.  The full word for cannibal is "Hitokuijinshu" but "jinshu" means "race."  So yeah, Hitokui is "people eater."

Thank you Shonen Knife!
They did a song called "Cannibal Papaya".

Hitokui Papaya, Hitokui Papaya, Hitokui Papaya, Ooh Ah!
Hitokui Banana, Hitokui Pineappo, Hitokui Papaya, Ooh ah!

This is how I learn Japanese.
Though I do have a English to Japanese Dictionary (not the other way around) so the process is a lot faster now.

Well, if you're anywhere near Kobe (maybe to have some famous steak) then get as many pictures of Glicopia as possible! I will be so in your debt!

Mustash- We might as well just drive down and then we can stay the night in people's houses every night. We drive down to Eugene, then its kind of a long stretch to get to the bay area. Anybody have relatives in Redding or Chico? Maybe we could crash with Dustin in Brookings, we'd have a very scenic drive down the coast!

So we fly down to LA for AX and stay at Mr. King's house.
Somehow get a van and drive it up to the Bay Area where we visit the HQ and then stay at Mr. King's other house.
Then we drive up to Brookings and hang with Dustin.
Then we drive up the coast and in to Eugene and start dropping people off.
Then we get home to Portland and sell the van.

Brilliant! so if we start saving up we should be able to do this in 2008. Everybody schedule your next school year accordingly!

Honestly, the Pocky Road Trip I'm planning is to Eugene, or at the very most, Bend. Our Kumoricon friends over in Bend don't get much love.

Ba Ha! I just had another brillian idea! We need to get an old Ford Econoline van and paint it like a giant pocky box on its side!

We then need to take out the back seat and put in a refrigerator so we can have "chilled" pocky whenever we want!

Then Pocky Club could spread its influence to every con in the US!

Its Roadtrip time!!!

you stole my idea.  I always wanted to get a moter home and add warp Nacells (Thought of this before space balls) then go from anime con to comic con to game con to etc etc etc for ever

and it looks like Bannana Rick is gonna have to get a dance belt

I can't believe I never thought of that. I simply MUST try that as soon as possible. I think I'll start by getting regular pocky (which would already count as the chocolate and the cracker) then dipping it in the already goopy marshmallow fluff you can buy in a jar. Once I know that flavor I can start testing a large roasted marshmallow on a giant pocky and small mallows on regular pocky.

Thank you Jaybug, I'll let you know how it turns out.

haha I got quite a few healthy bites in, but they sadly failed pretty soon after than *emotear* although I WAS eating ramen, and so the juices soaked into the pocky and made it break (and it kinda tasted yucky too :\)

When it comes to using pocky for chopsticks they will inevitably snap. There are two possibile soultions to this.

Giant Pocky are more resilient due to their size but might be awkward since it would be like using two sharpie pens.

The only other possibility is the extra crunchy variety of Pocky that is no longer on the market. Pocky G.

Where's the closest Safeway/Fred Meyer/Winco? Somebody google it!

Those will usually have the basic choco and strawberry pocky. I'd have to go drive around to find anything more exotic.

Hee hee hee..... MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Ahem, there's lots of flavors. I'll get back to you with some good links after lunch.

Here's the ones I actually have at home in my Pockpile (Pocky Stockpile).

Chocolate
Giant Chocolate
Men's (Dark Chocolate)
Strawberry (cream)
Strawberry (new recipe bits)
Strawberry (old recipe bits)
Chocolate Crush (cookie bits)
Almond Crush
Mousse Light (Milk Chocolate)
Mousse Bitter (Dark Chocolate)
Mousse White (White chocolate)
Mousse Green (Green Tea)
Honey and Milk

I'm hoping that the Murasaki Pocky (Japanese Sweet Potato) will be back for a third year at the Sakurafest.

In the summertime they should be bringing Coconut back and if we're lucky, Pine Cream (Pinapple chunks). In 2005 we had the super awesome Choco-Banana for a summer treat.

10 to 1 odds that you saw Pretz. They usually keep it on the same aisle and it's made by the same company.

Pretz is the cracker to Pocky's cookie.

If you want savory Pocky, I suggest Kurogo, AKA Black Five. It is a hearty blend of flavors including Black Soy, Black Sesame and Black Pine. It's like eating a pocky coated in a cracker. I don't mind the taste but some people don't like it, the smell is always good.

I think we should turn Pocky into a verb.  Like, "Man, I'm feeling so pocky right now" or "Man, that girl is straight pocky!"  Ya pocky?
