Wheeeeee!
Since I'm not driving and live a block from my office, i'm loving this snow!

I expect that some of you don't have school today so pipe up and let us know what's going on! Here's KATU's list,
http://www.katu.com/weather/closings

And here's the general weather report
http://www.katu.com/weather

Specifically, I'm curious how much snow is falling and how widespread this is! We've got about an inch and a half in Beaverton right now.

It's snowing quite a lot here in Clackamas as well. :3 School's not closed, but we're 2 hours late. ^___^
[stares outside]
It shows no signs of stopping either! XD

WOW! That was quick response!
I just got news from a manager about closing down for today.
My office NEVER closes unless the power goes out so this is unprecedented! What fun!

Fingers crossed!

I hope all you grownups get home safely today!

We are currently on a 2 hour delay. Our school will do anything they can to have us get to school. We've missed so much of it already from power outages and what not that we have to go 3 or 4 days into the summer. ;_;

Heh.  I ended up walking to work today.  I live in the inner east side, but even there the buses were a mess.  I ran into one of my co-workers at the bus stop and we decided to hoof it across the bridge to downtown, and we had lots of fun taking pictures along the way.  w00t!

I live in Lyons, which is about 7 miles east of Stayton, which is about 10 miles east of Salem. We currently have about 3 1/2 inches of snow. The snow began at around 7 o'clock this morning, and it is still carrying on. our elevation is about 850 feet. Thats my report. I have heard that Salem had it bad early, but its getting better, but that could very well be a conspiracy...

Downtown Portland is pretty much caked with snow, with the bus system slowly working it's way around. Took me 45 minutes to get to work at Pioneer Square from Lloyd Center after I managed to catch a bus, after another 45 minutes earlier of standing around.

As I was waiting, I overheard that a #8 bus going to Jubitz fishtailed and hit a tree. Hope everyone came out of it alright...

I live in Canby, and I was so surprised to actually see some snow! (It never snows here) I got up and ready for school, only to check the news and see that we're going to be 2 hours late. Then not to long after it said we were closed. XD Its been snowing pretty steadily since about 6am, but now the snow has stopped. It may start back up, but who knows?

Pie, I just started walking right away, and I ended up taking about 25 minutes total.  But then, it sounds like you live nearly a mile north of me.

The snow died for about an hour here, but now it's back! Hooray!

Going strong!

When was the last time Portland had snow for any decent ammount of time? the last couple years it's been like, one or two days of panic and then it's allwashed away by rain.

Where I am, it alternates between snowing VERY lightly and just being cloudy.
Freezing rain over here would be nice, I could use a few more days off.

now for a superjaz update of stuff she went throu today!
woke at 7 and wished school was cancled as she saw lots of snow but caught a 12 bus because at this time psu was open
around 8-9ish chris calls me to say classes have been cancled till 1200
then i get to psu to find out it is cancled, had breakfast at mc ds and waited for the other 12 as chris said he'd probably get off early, waited forever for 12 or a 9 (9 would take me to chris work) finaly a 12 came and around noon i got home a bit after chris came, he brought some yummy taco bell for lunch, we ate watched some 10th kingdom, and we went for a walk around the neighborhood, chris is from LA so snow days is not something he had growing up, now for more 10th kingdom (the movie is like 7 1/s hours long) and some hot cocoa
we really should of stayed home today, but i felt like if i didint go to school it wouldnt of been cancled and i had a paper due
2 positive things about my trip
1) got a sheet of coupons for mc Ds of buy one get one free stuff that are good all year
2) a guy on bus said i looked like kate winslet, and the older lady sitting next to me agreed with him
no ones ever said that to me and really i dont look like her but still nice compliment

I was snowed in with my car parked on a steep hill so even driving with chains would have been risky (trying to get off of that hill, I mean). So I got stuck at home. Tomorrow I'm probably going to have to walk a mile and a half in the snow from the MAX station to work. :(

I decided to walk to work today because of how unreliable the bus system would have been today...took a bunch of pictures with my phone on the walk to work, down Causey to 82nd, up 82nd to Johnson Creek, down Johnson Creek to 45th (where I work). A bunch on the bike path too.

And on the way home...oh my gosh, the bike path was so bright, it was crazy. I wish it snowed more so I could actually see stuff on the walk home from work! o.o

Pictures..
