Favorite cosplay: I've only done one that wasn't complete failure, and that was Kaiji. Still, I think I pulled it off decently, though in hindsight I just couldn't really get into character. I did it last Kumoricon and last Sakuracon. Between the two conventions, about ten people recognized me, but they were all super-enthusiastic about it, so it was worth it. The only other cosplay I've ever done was an awful Luffy during my first convention a few years ago. Don't even ask. Just know that it was very, very bad in many ways. And I probably won't be cosplaying again. It's cool to get recognized when you're cosplaying an obscure character, but I just feel more awkward in cosplay than normal clothes, and I really don't have the skill to make a good costume.
Anyway, for the next person...

If you don't know, try a little research, perhaps on Anime News Network or Myanimelist. It's a really good thing to know, since it can lead you to good anime that you may not have otherwise noticed.
