Hotel question....?
« on: April 21, 2007, 08:51:48 pm »
I'm curious if you think it'd be wise to pre-book a hotel room. I have to find a room for my cousin and I, and we're trying to avoid using the hotel she knows. And I figure, HECK. Why not get a room AT the con? So. Would it be wise to pre-book? By when?
Yeah.
First time. Coming in from near Seattle. Should be nutty enough.

I'd say if there's still any rooms left, book it as soon as you can. I'm not sure on the availability but if there are rooms left, they're going fast because of that certain discussion post on the room shortages.

and that's my two cents~*

Yeah, you don't need money at the time of reservation, so I would get a room immediately. The rooms are going pretty quickly, and while not gone forever, the chances of getting one are slimming.

ya they said that even if it says no rooms are open, they open more up for reserving when their block fills so keep checking back and its "Always a Must" to get hotel early for a anime con, all the good hotels sell out long before the con.

Plus there's always people who still have space to share in the room they already reserved ^_~

Me personally, I always reserve a room right when the hotel code(s) is/are announced. I've had my room for Kumoricon since late October of last year. I'll have my Sakura-con room as soon as they announce their hotels as well.

If everything really close by is full, there might be something about getting a room across the river and getting some of the local portland people to give you a ride. :)

Even though across the river is really close it is still in the best interest to get a room at the hotel if at all possible, you know?  It ust makes the whole experience even better!

I've been disscussing it with my friend and cousin. So far, it looks like we're getting something close by and walking in. If we HAVE to, we'll drive in and....TT; Pay for parking.

Add to the fact you're not at the mercy of someone else's schedule and you're not losing time to commute. None the less it is there as a last (and I do mean last) ditch attempt to solve the problem.
