Something on the news I heard

I think it was Sunday I heard this, but, the most popular day to get married this year, (in the U. S.), is July 7.  Why?  Because the date is 07/07/07, and many people think that it will be a good luck day.

If I was engaged & planned on getting married that day, it would be because of Tanabata.

If you have never heard of Tanabata before, here's a link to find out what it is.  I'm bad at explaining it myself.

That sounds fun, and much more meaningful than aimless wishes for luck. I want to learn that song now, and attempt to celebrate this year. Sounds really fun.

My anime club here at Clark College does something for Tanabata each year at our Spring Thing Festival.  We have people ties the wishes onto a tree (which I'm still surprised the grounds crew allowed us to do).  It's fun.  I'm not sure when Spring Thing is this year, but I'll post the date once I do find out.

Wow thats pretty neat =) Also its International NANA day this year! and nothin in Seattle or Wa state =( Anyone else celebrating it?

Interesting that this topic came up again. The Tenchi movie I watched last night had a Juraian Start Festival in it. Coincidence?

Isn't that in the 2nd movie, & don't they compare it to Christmas?
