I wasn't sure where I should have posted this...
When in doubt, post it in the spam forum. :3

I just discovered this while browsing 3yen.com, but there's a live action version of Grave of the Fireflies! :0

here's some info about it on anime news network.
here is the official Japanese website.

Ok, that looks classy.  It had better be too, to justice to the material.  Grave of the Fireflies is one of the best films I've seen, animated or not.  I start to cry whenever I think about it.  The part where Seita has to cremate his sister...  Sorry I can't finish the sentence.

Yeah, that was a pretty good movie.

Here's hoping for a decent remake.

Wow, as if being rent asunder emotionally by animated characters wasn't enough, now I have the possibility to have my world crushed by REAL people, too! I'm just beaming with excitement at that opportunity! (My sarcasm is hiding the fact that this movie has totally killed me everytime I think about it, spear to the heart, truly.) But yes, hopefully it will be good, heh

I was thinking about showing the anime to my mom as an icebreaker for her, (she still seems kinda "eh" about the anime world), but I think it would make her cry hardcore.  She tends to weep for people at the sight of carwrecks that don't look at all fatal.

ooh, yeah, in that case, this movie probably would tip the proverbial bucket of tears, were she to watch it.

So, yeah, I'm thinking of other possibilities.  I'm kinda thinking about Sister Princess, actually.

I cried the first time I watched it, but I still really love that movie.
Judging by the screenshots of the live action, it looks pretty accurate to me. :3 I hope they bring it to the US soon.

Ah, I want to see it, but man, I'm gonna cry something fierce. It's such a love-hate relationship. I love the movie, but at the same time, I can't stand how sad it gets. It's haggard, man, heh

I came close to crying, but didn't quite get there.  Only one movie has ever made me cry, & it was after watching one person getting beaten & tortured for over an hour & a half.

If this live-action movie is any good,    may happen at my house.

I love Grave of the Fireflies...i remember first watchin it in Japanese class...a looooong time ago.....and it was so hard to not cry and i *usually never* cry but that movie is such a tear jerker >.<! Its based on the real life of the main character *except he obviously doesn't die...until many years later* but i think he wanted to tell the world about the horrors of war ect....and the rest of his situation..what he had to go through...i hope the life action is good ^.^
