Vanadium, and heat treating are what make screwdrivers resist being damaged from use, and what makes them last over the years.

You could probably home forge vanadium chips into the iron with a bag or so of charcoal and a bellows.

Heat treatment of metals is still more of an art than a science. You can't just read a book and get it right every time. You have to be taught by another heat treater.

They're starting a cow poop facility to generate methane for power generation over in Boardman. They expect to expand soon. There's more poop unused. S***'S piling up. Maybe soon, they'll stop taking an extra $6 per month from my gas utility bill to pay for it.

Booze is radioactive!

In fact, if it isn't radioactive, it is considered to be unfit for human consumption.

You see, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms tests liquor for radioactivity. Alcohol made from petroleum and not grains, is not radioactive, but your good old "neutral grain spirits" are. It's that carbon 14 again.

If I remember right, it is 400 counts per minute that is the trigger number. Lower and the booze is bad, make you go blind kind of thing.

Yeah, don't drink it if it is over 9,000!
