Glass is not a true solid, it's somewhere between a solid and a liquid, also called an amorphous solid. If you look at windows to really old houses (100 years old or more I think) you can see that the bottom of the window is actually thicker than the top because it slowly flows downward. Assuming none of the windows have been replaced of course.

Slight word correction on that. It was the last one that was 100% hand-drawn. The last one that was done that had any handart was either Home On the Range or Brother Bear; I don't remember which one came last.
