I'm doing a cosplay that I'm not telling any of my friends about ahead of time and hopefully just the surprise of it will create extreme comedic value.

Yes, but I had to get help with my costume so a couple of people know.

sans my room-mate and the person making the costume (you know who she is Tom) no-one knows about it. I'm pretty stoked, because it's going to be pretty out of character for me. (Or in character depending on how you look at it).

   Ohhhh, I thought you were referring to "Stealth Cosplay", rather than just a surprise costume that no one knows about yet or that is rather out of character for you. "Stealth Cosplay" is what I did for the mini-con: I dressed as Muriel Bouquet from Noir, but if you haven't seen the anime, you'd think it was regular clothing (since all the items can easily be purchased at the mall...a man's equivalent would ba Kaji from Evangelion because that costume also looks very much like regular clothing).

I've got a few other outfits that are fun to wear which are great to wear when on a trip to Japan (I did that in '02...and I actually had to stand in front of a poster of the character before someone noticed that I was cosplaying! )  To me, that's "secret cosplay", though I call it stealth cosplay becuase even anime fen don't always notice it.

Aaaaah, Kexita was referring to me XD;  buuuuut I kinda ruined it and wore teh cosplay to Mini-Con ^^;  But oh well!  At least there are probably still people who dun know 'bout it <w<

correction: that costume IS regular clothing     I know because that who I dressed as for K-con '05, and everything was store bought. I think only two or three people the whole convention recognized who I was though...
