Okay, a little later than hoped for (even tho it's after midnight, I still claim it's Weds nite

), I finally have the team/piece assignments. Just for the record, you lot didn't fall into the catergories I had hoped for (so close to good vs. evil), so it took a bit more to shake out the teams. So, here are the team assignments, ordered as they amused me

.

Please keep in mind, this is not a first-come, first-serve event - the players that were selected were chosen based on their cosplay, and we do not have duplicate characters on the board (ack, except one, forgot about that). That said, if your cosplay didn't make the cut, please don't give up; in the event that a player does not have a completed cosplay, or does not make it to the mandatory pre-meet, they replaced on the board.

All participants must attend the mandatory pre-meet at 10am Monday morning. If you are not there by 10:15 at the absolute latest, you will be replaced.

I think it's awesome that my friend (Ash cosplayer) and I (Ishida cosplayer) are on the same team and are both pawns.

Jamiche, just wanted to let ya know you'll have to find someone else to be the queen for the white team. i cant make it to the convention.

plus you'll have to cross my friend Sarah C. off the back up list. she wont be going either.

Turns out my brother DID make it as the other chess master. XD He's been playing in tournies for nine years, so he's excited. And he's Rufus Shinra. <3

Yep. Born and raised. If he's been to the Oregon state chess tournament it is possible that we've met (although, I'm only an individual bracket player).

I think he was going to ask about your rating, actually, if you were a WA player.
And that's most likely; he played in a competition they had in Portland a couple years ago.
(He's just run off to print some things out for our trip tomorrow.)
Will you be cosplaying at all? :3 Because you should. He was wondering if there would be any chance of switching teams since he's cosplaying Rufus, and Rufus = evil. It's perfectly fine if you or the coordinator don't want that happening, but we thought we'd throw it out there.

I take full responsiblity for there not being a second game, Jamiche had wanted to get a second one in but via my commentary and chess rigging it didn't pan out. I'm sorry for anyone who thought that they should have had a chanc to get in on the fun, but there is always next year.

Roxas, Sora. You two made the ultimate sacrifice becoming Queen and King pawns so that we could have that unplanned Pirates vs. Ninja (School girl) battle.

Black King, I'm sorry you didn't get to kill anyone but me.

You were wonderful; both of you guys were.
I'm pretty sure you made a lot of people happy with how many pieces you got invovled. A second game would have been cool, but I can understand that it was either A. Get the current players lots of action in one game, or B. Get only some of the current players action and have a second game.
Maybe next year they'll have a bigger time slot. I definatly would have stuck around for another game, even if it was just to watch.
And I enjoyed your commentary; if you were nervous throughout, it was pretty much impossible to tell.

Thank you, because I was extremely nervous throughout it all. I wanted to entertain the audienc between fights, but I was constantly afraid that I was either missing punch lines or butchering series humor.

And, for the record, I truly do suck at names. I couldn't tell you half my own pieces' names (character names) even though I knew who they all were.

Sorry for not being able to say Tseng right, my 1/2 semster of Chinese didn't do much good for me (my Japanese is much better, but it caused me to read your name as Tsueng).

Merchant: You were good, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. In fact, EVERYONE deserves a round of kudos for being brave enough to play fight in front of an audience that came to be entertained.

Overall though, Jamiche AKA Jaki deserves an unlimited amount of praise for putting this on.

And AzuKyo, you did an amazing job as our chess master! Thank you very much for doing that! I'm sorry that I gave you so much crap while you were playing though. I still feel bad about that. But you did great even while having to deal with my crap. Thanks again!

Damn that was FUN! And I really did get banged up. Im covered in bruises and both my knees aare swollen and my right hand is messed up. I didnt realize I hit the ground THAT hard.

Im dissapointed that I didnt drag it out longer.
I felt it approiriate to keep figthing until they had to yell " Finish him..for the love of god of just finish him!"
I didnt want Toubi to run out of attacks (That and I have no idea who Toubi is and didnt know exactly what his attacks are..so I was probly wasnt acting well)
Besides, it was funnier to be defeated by ligth kick to the head. XD

..and nobody came to get me when I was dead..stupid Byakuya.
