i was cosplaying as ichigo when he is fighting Byakuya with the hollow mask...tried to use that sports tape stuff (which when i bought it i didn't know it was tape >.>;;thought it was just that bandage wrap stuff that i was going to wrap my self with...note:open stuff before getting to con...)didn't want to stick to the mask very well so ended up using duck-tape >_o wich kept trying to fall any way that first day... god duck-tape likes to take skin with it...and doesn't like sweat ^_^;;

used the sports tape to wrap myself since its all i had... bad marks on chest >_o third day i took stuck some of the tape on the back so only the ends where taped to my skin =D thx to who ever suggested that on the second day! wish someone would have suggested it sooner though x.x

Oi,. I remember you.
I ran intio you outside prereg and you randomly complained about that tape.

Ace bandages?!  GENIUS!

(I didn't use anything sticky for mine, but I sorta needed to...>_<)

My wig wounded me.  I still have some sort of indentation/scratch mark on my forehead from it.

And this isn't a wound precisely, but i have a rather bizarre tan line from the photo shoot in the sun while wearing cosplay......

MistressLegato is absolutely right. The proper and SAFE way to bind (... in my opinion >_>) is Ace bandages (REAL TAPE? o_o;;; I wasn't aware people actually used real tape!) under a sports bra of at least a size too small. The ace bandages keep the boobage down without causing injury to it other than the squashing and making difficult to breathe itself, while the sports bra over it will help keep them in place (since they aren't actually stuck to your body, they WILL slip otherwise after time, especially if you're running around everywhere. Recommended that when you take bathroom breaks, if your costume permits, take your shirt off and redo the bandage again.)

Also works well for those on a budget -- I've used the same two ace bandages for going on five cons now.

ANYWAY. As for my own con injury - eh, nothing much, except the few times I was seriously having trouble breathing because of the heat and the binding. Oh, the lengths I go to for proper crossplay T_T And my costume had long pants and was made of thick material so it was really hot *weep*

Mine's not really that bad, but the first day I got a huge headache from the wig cap I was wearing.

But thinking back I almost wonder if it was from dehydration, because the next two days I drunk plenty of water, and my head felt fine apart from the occasional pain.

...or maybe it was just getting used to wearing a wig again. XP

Some advice maybe for those using medical tape to bind and other things, try removing it in the shower. It won't hurt as much and getting it really wet first helps the adhesive to come off. But I agree, Ace Bandages work much better.

I agree, but I actually put the ace bandage over the bra/shirt, then safetypin it to the bra/shirt. I have such big boobs that the bandages don't stay on for more than a few minutes. They slip off. : P Also, when I leave the bandage on the shirt, I can just pull it over the next day which works just as well as redoing it every morning.

On subject of tape vs ace bandages, I'm planning on using veterinary wraps this next season. It only sticks to itself, comes in 3 inch rolls, and a variety of colors and is approx. $1 per roll. And it's reusable within limits.

Blisters on my shoulders from balancing Alphonse Elric's Armor torso on them, and I got my fingertip and fingernail under my sewing machine while working on a LOZ: Twilight Princess goat XD;; Yeowch.

I wouldn't worry too much about the scratch. Maybe a pin got left in your wig or something. Besides, scalp skin is thin so it's hard to do major damage but probably easy to make bleed. Unless it gets worse, it's probably just some weird, freak thing.
