When asked about Rude being black or white...  Tetsuya Nomura states, "his look is more South American than anything else."

I say white. Probably because Rude looks a heck of a lot like my dad and he's mostly of English and Danish descent.

I always thought he looked like a big, bald, white guy. Maybe a little tanned.
