It was a fabulous year for all things fan creation at KC. Personally I'm sad I had to miss AMV Iron Chef & AMV How To Clinic!
But I was particularly impressed with the huge and very enthusiastic turn outs of largely first timers, largely teens, for Scenes from a Hat and Story, Story, Die! fanfic improv games!
KC fan creation community just gets bigger & bigger & our programming just gets more enjoyable & more enjoyable every year!
Which is totally logical, since the very first Fanfic Room anyone can think of was our Beta Station at Kumoricon 2004!
Thanks everyone! Especially KC Execs for continuing to innovate and support fan creation programming at its finest!
BTW:
If you're on that list, and didn't get your prize or certificate yet, please PM me. I think I got all of the art winners except one and most of the fanfic winners......
BTW: I will try find the list of Scenes from a Hat winners....it was posted on our door for a couple days and announced at our award announcement time listed in the pocket guide schedule.....I didn't realize Nicole didn't have it to post, sorry! *is at work without said list, sorry*
Next year (if blessed with running such activities again) we'll aspire to give prizes out right there during Scenes from a Hat so we & our winners don't have to track each other down later
(There was no Kumoricash this year, but hopefully there will be next year!)
Judges this year were:
Nicole, Audrey, & Sandi (Fanfic); Kasa, Kayla, & me (pinch hitting for Lauren, who couldn't make it) (Fan Art); Audrey (Scenes from a Hat).
Copic provided our loaner markers & ink pens as well as some of our prizes.
Thanks again, every participant and audience member, for a fabulously fun & productive weekend in the Cedar room!
Anyone is welcome, btw, to join the_creation_station yahoo group, and/or kumoricon_fanfiction yahoo group......PM me for an invite
