First time I saw it I was 16, in high school. School takes a four-hour block of time out of the year, a half day, and uses it to teach about health issues. They do this every year.
We came in, sat down. Instructor came in, said "we're gonna watch a movie." Nothing after that. He put the movie in, we all sat there and watched it, thinking it's a school movie at first. Getting slowly engrossed, not 10 minutes have passed and all whispering and conversation in the room is gone. Total silence, save for the movie. The class collectively jumped when Sara's speed addiction hit its peak with the fridge. Near the end, two girls rushed out in tears.
The movie ended. Teacher came up, turned off the TV. He went back and sat at his desk, watching us. Nothing but silence and those consoling the kids who were crying. We were left like that, in silence and tears, with no discussion or conversation whatsoever, for an hour and a half.
The teacher came to the front of the room, looked from one side of the class to the other, nodded his head.
"Class dismissed."
