I need ONE class to graduate, ONE.
But that's not the problem, we have to have bare minimum five classes.
My problem is this:
Second period I have guaranteed start. This is a class where you are sent to an elementary school to work with kids. Well, they put me in a bilingual class because my transcript says I have advanced spanish experience. On paper, yes. However, I do not know enough to really interact with these kids.
Not that that matters because 20 minutes into my session, they go to lunch. That's the second problem. I'm expected to chill in an empty classroom for 40 minutes until the bus comes to take me back to school? Um, no thank you.
So I go back to school to talk to my counselor. She refused to even look up the possible classes at first. She said, "Well it's a school, I'm sure they could find you something to do." Um... I signed up for this class to work with kids, I don't want to go to do busywork.
So then she tells me all the possible periods are full and basically tough ****. Well I'm not gunna just let it go like that, there has to be something someone can do.
So then I go in to talk to the actual coordinator for the class in the main office, told her what was up and she was perfectly helpful. Told me she'd email the school and see if they could switch me into a class with a different lunch, now was that so hard?
