Ick, reading about hospital visits reminds me of when I was deathly ill two years ago and was in and out of the hospital for like six weeks. It wasn't until my 4th-5th visit that they realized something was actually very wrong with me and sent me to a specialist, where it was discovered that I had a severe throat infection that was slowly killing me. Which I could have told them myself had I been capable of speech at the time, since in addition to non-functioning vocal chords I also couldn't swallow (which meant extreme hunger and dehydration), couldn't lay down without pain in addition to the extreme pain I was already in (which was also preventing me from getting any sleep), and was struggling to breathe, but whatever. My dad is a doctor so he was as frustrated as I was that no one could really help me, but as a doctor he also was aware that ER doctors do the bare minimum to treat symptoms, since so many people are hypochondriacs and don't actually need the medications and treatments they think they do; plus with so many people ready to sue doctors who do anything other than treat them quickly and painlessly with the best possible bedside manner they're often afraid to over-prescribe for fear of legal retribution. Unfortunately it just also occasionally means that people who actually need specific and in-depth treatment get brushed aside with some tylenol or a band-aid.
I'm glad you're okay, Tala! Hopefully you stay that way!
