UGHHHHHHH..... people are driving me crazy today, time for some good 'ole fashioned venting before my head explodes.

1.) Please don't text me at 6am when you know I've been up late studying for an exam to tell me about "how crazy" last night was... Your out of control parties aren't cool, and honestly I just felt like this was rude on so many levels.

2.) Please don't call me to tell me that I HAVE to meet you after class to talk. If you want to call and try and make plans that's always appreciated, but this habit you have of calling me and demanding I meet you places so that you can look at my old class notes or complain about the same petty problems with your girlfriend is stressing me out. I am not your 24/7 lifeline, I'm more than willing to listen to people talk about their problems, and I've been tutoring you a lot lately, but seriously there's a limit.

3.) Work, why do you continue to call me all the time? You make me rush across town right after class (on my day off) just so I can listen to an argument and console a crying coworker. I AM NOT A SHIFT LEADER OR A MANAGER. Don't call me in saying it's an emergency just so you can talk to me for 5 minutes, that could have been handled over the phone. WASTE OF MY GAS.

4.) Please friends, do not call me half an hour before we are supposed to hang out to tell me "oh btw, I have work today so we probably won't have time to get the stuff done like I thought, another time?" Especially when we've been planning this all week and you tell me you've known you had work since Monday. THEN WHY DID YOU MAKE PLANS TO BEGIN WITH!?

So now I'm left sitting around my house on a Friday (my one day during the week I have to hang out with friends and relax) with nothing to do and feeling like I'm one text message away from freaking out. GHHESHWTBAERQQFAVAGTGEWHB.... I MAD.... SO VERY, VERY MAD.

So, after a straight week of not having a life because of finals, I am FREE. No more studying or finishing papers this weekend, I can have a life again.

Aced my math final, too. SO happy about it.
I miss 2010.

Man, weekends like this make me think that I really need to get a new job.... I don't understand how the fact that I'm a fast-food worker instantly makes me incompetent, or gives you the right to be as rude or lewd as you want.

Seriously, I'm so tired of being belittled and insulted because my job is "low class" according to some, when I'm just a college student trying to make money. I work harder than most people my age, what else do I need to do to get just a bit of respect or recognition?

Hey Kumoricon/ Docotr Who fan. While travelling Youtube I came across this little gem from the classic Doctor Who series. Take a look at this scene from the five doctors. And Tom (Tomethefanboy) you especially might want to take a gander at this.

Thus the reason I won't work fast-food or retail anymore. No matter how good I was with customers, there are always going to be "those" ones. I would much sooner just throw their order back at them rather than listen to that kind of BS. Glad I got out before something in my head just snapped & I ended up getting fired lol. Best you can do is remember this one little detail; they are unhappy with aspects of their life, therefore they don't think you should have the right to be happy either. DON'T LET THEM WIN! Smile & nod...believe me, it hits them harder that you think & they don't get the desired reaction they wanted. :D

Lol, I could never work fast food/retail.... I have this thing about not taking **** from people and I get a bit angry when others attempt to talk to me disrespectfully.

I really don't understand how people think they can just treat people like that. I mean, who do they think they are? Seriously!

Woohoo! :D

(And I very rarely have any exceptionally rude customers.  I can probably count on a single hand the number of times I've had customers that were seriously pissing me off.  And even then, only about 2-3 of them ever required any sort of manager coming over to make them happy and shut them up.  And that's in almost 6 years of working retail.)

I know how you feel Dubaby, I'm going to college and working in retail and I swear there are so many jerk customers. Not to mention a bunch of people that try/successfully steal. Usually they're just a little grumpy, but every once in a while they're  just those people. Unfortunately I have my dad's temper so it's really, really hard for me to deal with them with a level head.

I'm a pretty patient person, so I'm the one that normally end up having to deal with the really out of control customers despite the fact I'm a 5 foot tall girl and not a shift leader or manager.

My work tends to be pretty bad partially because the Jack in the Box I work at literally shares it's parking lot with a huge liquor store, so especially during the later part of my shift (2-10pm) we get lots of drunk people coming through the drive-thru. Since I normally work drive through I'm the one that has to deal with them, and I've gotta say after a year and a half of it I've just kind of started losing my cool.

Thankfully yesterday one guy that I've been having a lot of problems with over the past few weeks got told by my supervisor that he's not allowed on our premises anymore. THANK GOD! Seriously the amount of creepiness/rude comments I deal with in a day could fill a book. In fact I think I should just start blogging all the weird things people say to me at work. lol.

Being that I work in a grocery store as a courtesy clerk I've dealt with my fair share of schmucks and even shoplifters. So I understand what you're going through all too well.

I know what you mean! My school counselors keep wanting me to have a FULL schedule when I only need 3 more classes to graduate. I know several people with both late start and early release on both A and B days.
It's hair pulling. I really hate taking crap classes because they feel I need to be in school at all hours. Oi vey.

I need ONE class to graduate, ONE.

But that's not the problem, we have to have bare minimum five classes.

My problem is this:

Second period I have guaranteed start. This is a class where you are sent to an elementary school to work with kids. Well, they put me in a bilingual class because my transcript says I have advanced spanish experience. On paper, yes. However, I do not know enough to really interact with these kids.
Not that that matters because 20 minutes into my session, they go to lunch. That's the second problem. I'm expected to chill in an empty classroom for 40 minutes until the bus comes to take me back to school? Um, no thank you.

So I go back to school to talk to my counselor. She refused to even look up the possible classes at first. She said, "Well it's a school, I'm sure they could find you something to do." Um... I signed up for this class to work with kids, I don't want to go to do busywork.

So then she tells me all the possible periods are full and basically tough ****. Well I'm not gunna just let it go like that, there has to be something someone can do.

So then I go in to talk to the actual coordinator for the class in the main office, told her what was up and she was perfectly helpful. Told me she'd email the school and see if they could switch me into a class with a different lunch, now was that so hard?
I miss 2010.

I was allowed to have my first period off from school because of that.  It was nice getting to sleep a little extra, as well as making sure I had everything for school.  The best part was that Washougal High had only 4 periods at the time, so my FIRST class wouldn't be until 9:20 or so.  Ah, memories...

We have four periods a day, and eight classes.

I have three excused periods.

I don't have a first period at all, so if I could DRIVE I wouldn't have to go to school until 10 and on the second day I could go home at 1:50.

I mean how cool is that? School from 10 to 1:50? Sign me up! Too bad I can't drive. -.-

He acts, fire juggles, tap dances, and plays the tuba. Andandand he's a boyscout.
On top of that, he is a gentleman (usually dressed in a suit coat), hilarious, and very handsome.
He also writes amazingly well, and makes perverted jokes while managing to stay classy.

There's only one character flaw: He doesn't like me back :/

Hey Katie, dude, they're not good enough to be in your league. Because, well, you're awesome. If they can't see how awesome you are, then they're not worthy of having you. Period.

Those are my two cents on the matter.

Sometimes that's just what it comes down to, y'know? Sure, it's always good to try as much as you can to get the person to like you back, but if you keep trying and it fails you're hurting yourself more than anything. It's definitely not easy, believe me, it's happened to me, and sometimes it takes a long time to come to this realization and acceptance. But it's better to find someone who realizes how awesome you are than to chase after someone who may not feel the same way. It hurts now, but in the long run you'll be doing yourself a huge favor.

But, I'm also not saying that you should completely give up. If you feel that there may still be a chance then go for it! If it looks like you're going nowhere though, it may be a sign that they're probably not the right person. :/
