It's a great series called Baccano and it takes place in America during the 1930's

Oh my lord that was such an awesome anime! Isaac and Miria for the EPIC WINZ. Craaaazy violent, though. Like that one guy punching that other guy to death! Or the finger-chomping-off-ness! Good times!

Is it about gangsters/bootleggers? Like Al Capone? I also wonder if it's historically accurate.

*odd thought* It's kind of interesting to see what another culture's interpretation on another country's history is like.

It's not historically accurate but it's still amazing! It's got something for everyone: humor, violence, romance (though often times twisted...), and a whole lot of guns. Even my brother liked it and he isn't fond of anime.
