AUGH.
I've spent the last six hours, off and on, working on the collar for my damned coat for Risai. First I had to draft the pattern for the border, then I had to piece the bits of pattern together to make one solid piece, and then, after cutting it out, I checked and rechecked to make sure I was right. And then I sewed it together.
And then I went to go pin it on the jacket and realised I'd sewn the pieces together backwards. T_T So my seam ripper and I spent the last half-hour getting better acquainted.
(To be fair, I did take breaks for lunch and to finish up the sash, but still, this is quite vexing. *fistshakes*)
PS, Raknorak, I've seen people use PVC for Air Gear jackets, though I don't think (Nue aside) it's quite the right material -- a little too shiny. You could try the Air Gear thread over on cosplay.com -- there's plenty of people there who've made the jackets.
