Work with a small piece to figure out just what it does. Remember: it makes curves along the bias (which means that if can make a curved object if turned to it's diagonal to the thing you're using as a mold) and if you want to make a seam all you have to do is heat both pieces and smush them together until they're cold. If you want thickness, layering two pieces makes the material pretty stiff when it's cold, and three makes it immovable.

Sorry, I probably wouldn't be able to make it for you. I've got to finish all sorts of crazy props.

I am finishing up the collar and the wrist guard right now (I'm waiting for the paint to dry at the moment) I need to add more details for the sword and get the color contacts and I will be done. I am not going to order the contacts till the end of July or beginning of August.

I literally just bought my wig for Mana. x3  Aaand I'm working on buying the fosshape and new eyes for my doll's cosplay.  Still need to trim her wig, it's a bit long...
I think that the last thing I do is make a blouse to go with my lolita skirt.  With just a couple alterations, I have some shirts that could pass as cutsews...so for now, I'll be a casual loli.

Anyway.  Misa hasn't been worked on, but I just need to do a couple more things like install zippers and I'm done.

It's so hot out, the spackle for Demyx was drying on my hands. Gawd, that is something I don't need to deal with right now. At least the petticoat for my TB nun is done... Even if it looks like a really poofy Crisis Core Aerith.

Soon as Demyx is done drying, I'll sand him again (hopefully this is the last time) and then I'll be able to paint him! Hallelujah!

T_T Ergh, I don't think i'll be able to get that misa claws done in time ...
I'm uber depressed now...I got the shirt, collar, and sleeve done. And I have shorts all that's left is using some kinda glowie stick or battery to make the costume light up on the sleeves, and make the leggings and buy white boots and yellow ducty tape XD All for my Rin cosplay! YOSH! Time to finish!
Freak...I still have to buy wigs...

Okay, so I'm still trying to get the right fabric for this Mikura Kazuma Cosplay I'm doing (Air Gear.)  This is the closest that I've been able to find ANYWHERE to these jackets. Anyone got a site that could do me better?

Also, who would I talk to about the ruling on Rollerblades in the hotel?

There are no rollerblades in the hotel. This topic has come up before. Some have suggested making fake wheels and attaching them to shoes to look like rollerblades.

As for the material I think that looks great. If you don't want to spend too much money the pleather is the best way to go.

No blades? That just sent a wave of depression and relief down my spine at the exact same moment. Not sure if it was enjoyable or not. : \ But that's less work for me.

So that fabric honestly looks like it would look good? I can do the crafting since I"m good with my hands and sewing, but my judgment when it comes to fashion isn't on the great side.

I need more friends who cosplay to help me >.>

AUGH.

I've spent the last six hours, off and on, working on the collar for my damned coat for Risai.  First I had to draft the pattern for the border, then I had to piece the bits of pattern together to make one solid piece, and then, after cutting it out, I checked and rechecked to make sure I was right.  And then I sewed it together.

And then I went to go pin it on the jacket and realised I'd sewn the pieces together backwards.  T_T  So my seam ripper and I spent the last half-hour getting better acquainted.

(To be fair, I did take breaks for lunch and to finish up the sash, but still, this is quite vexing.  *fistshakes*)

PS, Raknorak, I've seen people use PVC for Air Gear jackets, though I don't think (Nue aside) it's quite the right material -- a little too shiny. You could try the Air Gear thread over on cosplay.com -- there's plenty of people there who've made the jackets.

the reference picture seems to be quite shinny and the material will give you that same look. Aside from that I am sure that the jacket in the anime is leather, so pleather will work perfectly.

I need to make the leg warmer for my Rin cosplay.
It MIGHT be hard but I'm not sure.
I think what I'll do for the shoes is just buy like white boots/sneakers somewhere and put yellow duct tape on the bottom.

So, I is thinking that, instead of DoBS Sokka (Avatar), I'm probably just going to do Fire Nation Sokka instead.   Easier on me.

Getting my stimulus check this week, so whatever isn't going towards the hotel room is going towards cosplay. LOL.

Okay, so I bought my fosshape on Saturday and ended up being about $7 short for the doll eyes.
So those are next, might as well do it now..

Tomorrow or Wednesday should be another trip to the fabric store because I completely forgot about my doll's costume last time I was there. ;-;  So I have no fabric for her.
My friend will go with me and help draft the pattern.
Tomorrow should also bring more work on Misa; hemming, zippers, and the like~

...I'm off to make a list of what I need at the fabric store...

This is the progress on 3 cosplays I own. I'm wearing Lacus and Haruko to the con. I need to replace the Haruko Jacket though. It was made at a time where my chest was very flat. And if anyone has tips on a prop guitar. That'd be great. ^_^

Ghetto-finished Juuni Kokki cosplay is a go!  I wore it at AX, and while there's a lot I want to fix, it's passable.  Needs a longer and darker wig, non-fail obi, and redone skirt-thing at a minimum, plus ideally bootcovers and better pants.  Here's to hoping I don't melt in it as much at KCon!

Cosplay work's on hold, though.  Can't get to my desk, housemates exploded.  T_T

Went shopping today and got just about everything else I needed.

Doll's eyes for Dark Magician Girl came in today.  They're so pretty <3

Now, all I need is my wig in my possession and I will have all my supplies for Mana collected.

I really should start sewing again.  Hopefully I can draft the base dress pattern for Mana tomorrow and finish Misa.

Wait...still need a heat gun.  Need to drag mom out to craft stores...or something.

All the grommet work is done on my TB nun, and now I have to glue on the armor and do that other cuff (and technically, I need to grommet that sleeve shut)... And then I need to sit down at a nicely-lit table with a sammich and a drink and make thirty terra cotta Sculpey arrows, to be spraypainted en-masse, weathered, and then attached to their requisite locations. I still have to make the back plate and the points for the tentacles that come off of that, and the random tentacle that goes from the waist cross to the middle part of the back plate. Then I have to make shoe armor and style that wig.

One of Yuffie's gloves is done, but now I need to do the other one. The shorts need to have the legs shortened slightly, the metal garter needs to be spackled, painted and weathered, all the leatherworking needs to get done (I'm so glad I have a leather needle for my sewing machine now!) and I need to get me some shoes. I'm considering getting some orange Converse X-hi tops, but that idea is out the window since they won't let you put 'Ninja' on the back as your ID. Onwards to eBay for my Yuffie shoes, TB nun shoes and Organization boots!

Outer dress and inner dress is done
I'm finishing up my uber awesome prop at the moment.
And Dana [The only one who knows what it is] is making the jacket for me!
Need to go buy wigs for everyone

- - i couldn't resist posting the finished version of my kairi shoes so here they be in all their glory >w< !

lol don't mind what looks like little stumps for legs, resizing and cropping will do that to a photo but you get the point n__n; .

heres a link to a picture of kairi with the in-game shoes and i think mine are as close on as possible .
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg36/Animelover-maniac/kairi.png
there is a difference though between her in-game shoes & the high quality cutscenes shoes but the high quality cutscene shoes are just a very light pink-lilac color and don't have as many details as the in-game ones so i've decided to do these shoes even though i have the high quality cutscenes outfit owo; .
besides, isn't having lavender shoes way cooler than have pink ones xD ? !
you can't get lavender converse anymore x3 !

heres a link to a picture of kairi with the in-game shoes and i think mine are as close on as possible .
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg36/Animelover-maniac/kairi.png
there is a difference though between her in-game shoes & the high quality cutscenes shoes but the high quality cutscene shoes are just a very light pink-lilac color and don't have as many details as the in-game ones so i've decided to do these shoes even though i have the high quality cutscenes outfit owo; .
besides, isn't having lavender shoes way cooler than have pink ones xD ? !
you can't get lavender converse anymore x3 !

OMG GIVE ME THOSE SHOES!
XD Seriously, I need to go buy Blue converses!!!
Wig land this saterday
I'm doing commissions now, I'm making an OC Kunoichi dress, Anbu vest, and armor for friends.
I donno how I'm going to do it but I will?

Going hunting after work today -- not for wigs, but for extensions so I can see what the colours look like in hopes that my new Risai wig will look more appropriate when compared to Kaasan's Youko hair.  T_T

I need to get sewing again, very badly.  Going to try to do that this weekend, but I'm not sure how successful I will be, when the disaster house is still a disaster.  *fistshaking at housemates*  I think I'll try to either work on the sleeves for my Miranda dress, since I need to do alterations there, or work on adapting the underbust corset I'm going to be bastardising six ways to sunday for Risai's obi.

Or, if I don't feel like dealing with their mess keeping me from my sewing machine, I'll break out the Fimo and start sculpting belt fittings.  I will not work on Trinity Blood cosplay for next year.  I won't!
