I added an inner layer to the belt for Albel so it wont fray anymore. I am also working on the armor on the foot but we have taken a break to watch Batman Begins.

@ totemo- Looking awesome! Just a suggestion though, instead of drawing the lines on why not hot glue thin strips of bias tape or fabric instead? I would just be worried about getting the lines straight and stuff XD Oh it's just an idea though~

Thanks! I think I will try that. :) So you think hot glue will work alright?

I use hot glue all the time and it works out just fine. I'm sure it will work for that too.

It might not go well through the wash but it should work ok for what you want to do.

Yeah that is another thing. All the stuff I use hot glue for don't go in the wash....but I bet if you did it on cold it should be fine.

So I have decided to throw in the towel on my Azul costume. Nothing has been going right. I thought I was making progress but there are two key elements that I am just not going to get in time, and without them the costume can't be done. So, I am just putting it off until next year. Maybe then I'll actually be able to do it without any problems.

Looks like I'll just be doing Barret again this year. Not that I feel much like cosplaying at the moment.

wow that is sad to hear. But I think the costume will turn out much better with a little more time. I knew that you were having problems with the wig. That really sucks. I wanted to see the finished costume, but it gives me something to look forward to next year.

Alright a little update on Albel. (The costume is ready to wear just making touch ups)
I styled the wig a bit more giving it the bangs he has.
I added an inner layer to the belt giving it more body and to keep it from fraying on my skirt
Remade some of the shoe armor so it wont bend and come off easily
Glued the hilt back onto the sword.

Some other things that I still would like to do:
Remake almost all of the armor on the shoes.
Redo the back of the shoulder armor so it isn't cardboard
And re do the stitching on the shirt (its half done I just need the other half)

I just poured what I"m hoping will be the last round of my resin casts for Risai.  I might have one more to do, and if that's the case, should be able to pour it tomorrow or (if I'm feeling particularly insane) Thursday morning before work.  Means those should be ready for sanding and sealing and painting come the weekend.

I'm so going down to the wire on all this.  Gotta power my way through finishing Miranda's dress and Risai's obi over the weekend, or at least making significant progress on both, and get my Unohana wig restyled ASAP so the glue has plenty of time to dry.  I did get swords posted up to Seattle today so the family can bring them down rather than me dealing with airlines, though, so that's one important thing out of the way.

Moar time plz.

Number one: My sitar is almost finished! Just needs the tuning pegs. They're drying as we speak.

Number two: My arm sock for Yuffie is done!

Number three: Mostly finished with my Way to the Dawn. Gave it a new coat of paint and all that jazz. Ignore the Mugen, I'm not planning a Kanda cosplay and I don't think I ever will unless he suddenly becomes less of a b@$t@rd.

Number four: Remember the giant shuriken from last year? Re-painted, fiberglass tips and materia slots on both sides!

 I happen to like Kanda's bastard...ness.

And I WOULD  be cosplaying him if another total bastard would  START on that costume. He promised me I'd have it for Fanime which was three months ago.
He's too busy figuring out how to make Mugen glow. Yea, he figured it out. Big damned deal! He should try working on the actual costume now!

I will do 'closet cosplay Kanda but it's hardly the same.  >:(

I finished
-Dibs clip in scythe lock
-Making Pak, fitted harness
-Roxas' Pants and Chaps
-Roxas Tank
-Roxas' rings and bracelet
-Hayners Wig

@ Thief: Now, see, the only way I would fangirl over a Kanda cosplayer would be if s/he had a glowing Nigentou or Ichigen release of Mugen. I figure if I ever cosplay him that's what I'm doing.

@ veraca: Thank you! It be lopsided, but you don't notice unless you really look for more than five minutes.

@ pencil: Why thank you! However, if you saw about half my props up close you would probably be singing a different tune.

Well you wont. He's my best friend and I love him dearly which is why I can't bring myself to tell him that he really won't make he a very good Kanda. His costumes are pretty  amazing though*emo*

Heh, and if you did fangirl over a sword only wouldn't that make you a ..weapo-phile? Or something.

So after some deep contemplation and some turnabouts in my plans I have decided to continue on my Azul cosplay. I was being brash and panicked last night when I chose to give up on it until next year. Today has been great, I got a lot accomplished and also have been assured that my wig will be here in three days. So, with that almost in the bag, I have been working on the other aspects of the costume. Today I began and finished painting one side of Azul's cape, I found shoes, and I painted the barrels/pipes for the cannon. Tomorrow I expect to assemble the cannon at last and get it all done with. So, it is nice to see things coming together more successfully.

I am glad that you are going to go through with it. I think it would be a really cool costume but I do see where you were coming from. Without a wig it wouldn't be complete. I'm glad to hear that the wig will get here soon. You'll have to post pictures ^_^

So I've got my Air Gear Cosplay (Kazu) to about 70% right now. I've just got to make the pants (2 hours tops) and put the trimming, zippers, and pockets on the jacket. And hopefully the wig shows up on time. here is the way the jacket is looking. Please ignore the odd pose, only way I could really think of to get as much of the jacket and stuff in the photo as I could.

This is a picture of the team outfit that I'm doing, minus the orange straps on the legs. And here is a picture of Kazu, who is on the right.

Also have a secret cosplay that's going to be revealed on saturday. Only thing I'm saying ladies, is make sure you have your hair down. :P

I got a whole friggin lot done in the last week and a half. >> Before then, almost every cosplay was only a little more than halfway done.

- Xigbar is officially 100% done as of today when I re-bleached my hair. The rest was done long ago as it is mostly closet cosplay. : P
- EmoZim needs a shirt, which I can't fit until I have my compression shirt. So I'm waiting on that. >> Finished everything else this past week (including the Pak! *.*). So 90%. X3
- Emo PJ Zim is 100% done, as it is also mostly closet cosplay. XD
- Hayner just needs a vest, which is almost done, but I need help from my friend to finish the sleeves. The bats are completely finished, they just need to dry. Again, 90%
- Duo still needs pants (lawl), I need to add the wings to the hat (easy : P), and the scythe handle needs to be painted. So 70-75% done (which is sad cuz it's my easiest cosplay this year XD;; ).

We (being me, Hashi, and sometimes Alcyone) were so busy being productive that we didn't take any decent pictures of our progress. XD But I'll get some soon. Hopefully.

I prefer to pick my badge up at the convention. I really don't mind the lines, since it's more guaranteed than lost in the mail x_x

I'm a little iffy on the shorts for my Aqua cosplay, but I found a black shirt I can mess around with if I need to. x_x

Wow, the armor looks much better this time around. ^_^ Nice job.

And I made some nice progress today. I got the box of Azul's cannon nailed/glued together. So now all that is left to do is insert/fix the barrels and attach some wheels to the exterior. It is so close to completion now!

I also finished painting one side of the scarf and the cape, respectively. I will have progress photos up tomorrow.

GAAAAH! http://sophiastarocean.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/peppita.jpg.w300h479.jpg
Peppita.... I started on her a while ago, and made the mistake of using silk cuz it was on sale.... DARN THOSE SALES! Oh well.... I have her main shirt pretty much done, although it looks a bit sloppy. I was sooo proud of myself until I realized that I have to make the boots out of the same silk! Someone help please... These dont seem the type of boots you can just cover up prebought boots with... T_T I thought about some thin card board over some flats, but I'm not sure how well that will hold up...
Oh! And the necklace? Yea... hehe. I am not sure how I can do that part either.... Ack....
Please help! :D

Necklace: hand crafted clay for the larger parts, I think Crayola has something that can work. As for teh necklace itself a simple silver chain or to be more exact, small white pearl shaped beads strung together- glass or plastic would be best in that case. And the hinge really so it blends well with the rest- a silver or white circle shaped magnet should work fine.

Shoes : Buy some sneakers and make the shoe covers. Try for the collars some type of foam you can sort of sculpt and put around the fabric. You should try like other cosplayers have done, and have a zipper or snaps at the back of the cover so your shoes can still act as real shoes.

I hope you note for her shirt that she's wearing a white cami underneath, and the large red beads on the fabric of her scarf. You can't see it well, but I believe in one ear she's got a large bell-shaped earring- foam on a ear hook should do? Not sure what you'll do about the metal bands holding up her scarf... I'd have to say foam or stuffed fabric.

Thats very helpful! Thank you! Sad thing is though, I am running out of money! So I might have to hold the cosplay off for another time, but I may give it a sloppy swing! As long as no one gets mad at me for it! Haha. :D Um... I can probably find the clay pretty cheap, dontcha think?
The shoes, yea, I think I might just make a removable thing, like you said. It will probably be best.
I'm not worrying too much on the details of the scarf. I've used foam balls and just covered them in cloth, so they are not smooth, but it'll be fine, same with the round bands. As long as it doesnt look absolutely terrible, I really dont mind how sloppy it is... Haha. Um...
Oh! And for the earring, I did notice, but I cant say I will be making any earring type thing. Its my one issue with most cosplays, I cant stand earrings, clipping or no.

You could take a hair clip and tie a light foam ball or a bell to it and clip it to the wig hair or under the wig to the wig cap and that could work. Since tying it around your ear is most unbalancing and uncomfortable x_X

That looks like it will be a very cute costume, whenever you are able to finish it. ^_^ I'd say, for the bells on the boots, you could find bells that big at JoAnne Fabrics. I've bought some myself in the past. Only a couple bucks each.

Good luck getting it all done!
