I know that this isn't a positive or negative, but you can still celebrate christmas, even if there are no presents involved. Christmas is all about being with the people you care about and spending time with them. You and your mom can go out and look at christmas lights, watch christmas movies, and just sit around and talk. Another one is actually read Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol.
