Kumoricon Lite - Mini convention!

Ok well it seems like 4 or 5 sounds like a good time to meet up for cupcakes...maybe a little bit earlier around 3:30 pm? That way we'll be somewhat hungry for a mid-afternoon snack and those who want to go to the Asian convention can leave around that time. And I have no idea how long we're staying.

What is everybody else's opinion's on this?

If the food and snacks in the student union don't satisfy, here's some other spots in the area.
On 6th and Hall (block south and block east) there is a Hot Lips Pizza and Chit-Chat Cafe. Down the block along 6th there is an Indian restaurant, a Big Town Hero, and then on the corner of 6th and College is The Cheerful Tortoise pub.
Across the street on 6th and College is the Six Avenue Deli and Market.
On the corner of Broadway and College is Pho Thann-Long, a Vietnamese restaurant and a Chipotle.
South two blocks from the student union on Broadway is a Quiznos.
Three blocks south, on the corner of Brodway and Jackson is Bluefin Sushi.

There is a 7-11 2 blocks north on the corner of Broadway and Market.
There is a Starbucks on the corner of 6th and Jefferson.

Sushi Takahashi 2, which is abotu five-six blocks south, but totally worth it. That's where Kahlan, Laurifer, Totemo, Daxe and myself are probably going for lunch. If anyone else wants to tag along, feel free. ^_^

haha, yes! The place is awesome, I tell you. The staff rock, it's a great, humble but fun setting and, as you mentioned, there's sushi on a train! Nothing better, lol. Totemo kawaii nee!

Since it looks like some of the people who want to go to Saint Cupcake(me included) are going to this place, I might as well tag along, but I just need to know what you guys are gonna leave the mini-con for lunch(would 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM be okay?). And the mode of transportation or departure point will be helpful of course.

I'm thinking at this point it is just show up to the con, find people and then go. It isn't really working to try to preplan this lunch because not enough people know where things are downtown. So, yeah, just try to find people at Kcon Lite, and we will move from there.

Well, I suppose it would depend on how fast they can run

Basically, if you are cosplaying at Kumoricon Lite, you'll need to abide by the same rules as if you are were at Kumoricon.  If you bring a prop weapon, you can't brandish it, or hit anybody with it.  And if you can't bring it to the convention, you can't bring it here.

Just a reminder - Kumoricon Lite is from noon to 9 pm tomorrow.

Check-in will be in SMU Room 296.  We ask everybody to please check-in, so we can get an idea of how many people show up to the event (it makes it easier to convince future vendors that it is worth their time to come to these kind of events).

Some of the activities we will have:

Gaming - Rockband, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Mario Kart, just to name a few.
Viewing - some of the latest fansub releases, in addition to dubbed anime, live action drama series, and AMV's
Karaoke and the Manga Library

In the check-in room, you can find information on our hosts, Random Select and the PSU Anime club, and you can register for Kumoricon.  There will be some concessions for sale, Pocky Club will be hanging out, and it's where you will find Deanna from Custom Cosplay - she will be offering her cosplay goodies for sale.

Another reminder - every manga you bring and donate to our manga library gets you one raffle ticket.  Prizes include T-shirts, books donated by Dark Horse (including a Vampire Hunter D artbook), a weekend membership to Kumoricon '08, and even a ticket to the VIP Guest Dinner at con.

Cosplay is encouraged, but not required.. so come and check us out.  Bring snacks to share with others if you like (we'll have a table set up in check-in), otherwise you're pretty much on your own for food (although Tom did scope some nearby places out for you )

as far as I know you are able to register as staff online aren't you? *shakes her head* anyway Registration should be set up there if everything works out as planned and if my manager's car doesn't break down again. At the very least I am pretty sure we will be taking registration, but hopefully we will be printing badges too... this is not set totally in stone, so don't be disappointed if I am there in the mascot outfit and we've got no printers to do reg with....

Nope..director has to sign your form so you have to register at a meeting/event they are at.

If you have pre-arranged it with a director, you can mail the form to them to be signed, and either mail a payment by check, or pay online by credit card.
