Trouble deciding...

Haldo, everyone!!

I wanted to go to Kumoricon last year, but I never got around to paying or making my way to it. So, I've decided that this is the year I will go to my first Anime Convention!! Woo!!

But, the problem is... I don't know who to go as. Currently, I'm leaning toward Soul Calibur characters, since I really love that game series. There are a few others ((from other games, animes, etc.)) but I'm not sure. Also, either Paine or Yuna may be an option, since I may get two of my other friends to go as Rikku and Yuna or Paine.


So, here are the choices:

Xianghua ~
-Soul Calibur 2 ((Player 2 Outfit))
-Soul Calibur 3 ((Player 1 Outfit))

Tira ~
-Soul Calibur 3 ((Player 2 Outfit))

Seung Mina ~
-Soul Calibur 3 ((Player 2 Outfit))

Yuna ~ ((Only if my friend goes as Paine))
-FFX-2 ((Black Mage))

Paine ~ ((Only if my friend goes as Yuna))
-FFX-2 ((White Mage))
-FFX-2 ((Gun Mage))

Excel ~ ((My friend would go as Hyatt))
-Excel Saga ((ACROSS outfit))

Aelita ~
-Code Lyoko ((Lyoko outfit from the beginning episodes))


Well, don't know if anyone will reply to this, but I just wanted to know what the others who go to KumoriCon thought on this matter.

You can go as whoever you want, heck I saw two Jack Sparrows at Sakura-Con. You can also do a different cosplay each day.

I'd say choose a character that you really like and do it with a friend. I'd assume you do like all the charas above, so I don't think that's an issue, but cosplaying with a friend from the same series is always more fun I think. Then there's the question of which cosplays are the hardest/most expensive to make. XD Those are the things I always look at when choosing a cosplay. Hope that helps! ^^

Well, I'm personally a fan of Tira and I really like Paine's character design, but you should think about these four things before you chose your cosplay:

Is it way over cosplayed or is it very obscure? (how many people will recognize you and will there be way too many of you) (In your case, I think you'll be fine. Although, there are a lot of Yunas... but not nearly as many as there are bleach characters, but all they characters are fairly popular, so you won't be extremely obscure.)

Do you like the character design?

Do you like the character's personality and will you be able to pull it off? (this is only if you plan to be in character which I highly recommend, as it's incredibly fun.)

Are you able to make/buy the costume? (Do you have the money to get the fabric/commission it? how good are your sewing skills or is it available from commissioners- by the way, it's way more fun to make it yourself... well, I'd assume that, having never bought a costume.)
