cosplay dead end

ok, i've reached a cosplay dead end.
i am 5'2", 110lb, petite freckled girl. my boyfriend is 6'5", 210lb, handsome, kinda medium built.
we can't agree on who to cosplay as for Kumoricon!
options that i have
1) Lina and Gourry (from the manga) but he doesn't want to wear a long wig
2) From Chobits Jima and Dita (not to special though)
3) Rogue and Gambit (but it's not anime and i'm not sure how to make their outfits)
4) Eva-02 and Asuka plug suit (he has a month and that may take a long while to make and not sure how to pull off the plug suit).
5)He would be a great Leon from Kingdom Hearts (but i have no one to go as).
6) Making up some warrior and priest with nefty weapons.
I would like it to be something Great that people would want to take photos of but isn't over down (no bleach or naruto).
keep in mind we do not have a lot of time or money or patience.
but any ideas with pic's and links would be helpful.

If he would make a great Leon (Squall), you could go as KH Yuffie or KH Aeris (though it sounds like Yuffie would fit you perfectly). I'd say a Leon/Yuffie pair would be pretty awesome, because they do itneract quite a bit in KH, and it would be completely within reason for a cosplay pair to do them. ^_^ Best of luck!

you could try Rin and and a slightly beefy Shiro from Fate/stay night, they wear street clothes, you might have to find wigs but you could put that together pretty easy

If you want to do Kingdom Hearts and he isn't too adverse to being Squall/Leon/whatever the bugger calls himself these days, then be KH1 Yuffie! Her outfit in that actually isn't too bad, especially for the weather that northern Oregon seems to get in August/September. Man, last year I nearly baked to death as Yuffie, and I was her Dirge of Cerberus version and outside most of the time! Trust me, you'll want a nice, light costume. It was, whaaaat... 98F Saturday in '07? How the Akatsuki cosplayers survived is beyond me... let alone all the OrgXIII people!

you could try Ristuka and Soubi from Loveless. They are both guys but one is really short (because he is 12) and the other is really tall. They both wear normal clothes so it would be easy to put together.

Team Rocket! Specificially two extremely underrated members--Domino and Lord Vicious. I've only seen one cosplayer of her, and NEVER one of him even though he has the most awesome outfit in the whole series.

And they've got the height disparity as well, since she's relatively short and he's really really tall.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful ideas! i may keep some of them in mind.
but i decided that my guy will go as Leon from Kingdom Hearts! and i am going as Rinoa if she was in Kingdom Hearts, her outfit is different, and it is in the works.
Hopefully we will have enough time to finish Leon's outfit when my guy comes back in July for us to go as that couple to Kumoricon!! if he can even come.
