2008 Cosplay Chess: Rules & Sign-Up

I had a question for the person in charge of Kumori's Cosplay Chess. I sent a PM, but never got a response.

For the second year in a row, I'm going to be working the Sakura-Con booth as industry. Will this prevent me from participating in Cosplay Chess or not?

Sorry for the delay in my replies, guys.. other deadlines have been keeping this on the back burner

I've sent out replies today to all the registrations I have received... if you have not received an e-mail, I did not receive your form. (Except for you, Syd.. I did get your form in the mail, but with no pic like you thought.  If you can e-mail or mail it, that would be great. Or bring to a gen mtg.)

Bob - go ahead and submit your cosplay, we'll just mark it as other.  It's the quality of the cosplay that is important

Nikkiolie - you can submit more than one cosplay.  If you have a strong preference on which you would like to use, please let me know.. otherwise, it gives me options on the make-up of the teams.

Wind - As long as it doesn't conflict with duties on your end, and you can make the pre-meet, you are more than welcome to participate in Cosplay Chess   The more the merrier.

Sorry for all the questions. I'm just curious about things.

It's just... I have one costume that I can use, it's finished and really popular with people. And the other is brand new and still pretty popular, from my discussions with people about it.

But, what if the costume we want to enter in isn't done yet? It's about half done, but my camera is currently MIA. Do you want us to wait until we finish the costume and are able to take pictures, or just apply anyways?

Wind - your costume needs to be mostly complete (maybe lacking a wig, or something small) before you submit it, but you still have plenty of time.

Bob - unless they are part of your costume (or are smiley faces), you probably should be wearing pants.. we are a PG-13 con

Okay thanks. I've got some small sewing left to do and it's done. Once I get my camera back from my sister's boyfriend (long story about that) I'll take a picture to send it in. I'm missing my wig and holster at this point in time. I just don't know how recognizable I'll be without the wig. I'm also worried that not many people will recognize me in this particular outfit. I mean, everyone I've talked to about this costume is enthusiastic about it... But I'm just worried about the likeliness of being recognized.

Also in the "series" line there's not enough room for "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" x( Will "TMoHS" be acceptable?

So if a weapon is too large to be peacebonded it can't be in Chess, can it? Gawd, Lavi-chan won't be too particularly happy.

Deadline is Friday, the 22nd. (And depending on how many registrations I receive by then, I may accept a couple of days after that).

Sorry about the timing, guys... it's our last big event of the weekend, otherwise Monday would be kinda slow .  If you need to work hotel check-out around the pre-meet, let me know and we will figure something out.

One e-mail is fine, but please do a separate form for each.  And either "TMoHS" or "Haruhi Suzimya" is fine.

You don't have to have a special attack... the reason for that line is if you have a special attack that involves another cosplayer that you will "summon" for it.  Like if you're Ash, and you "summon" Pikachu (which I actually would like to see )

If you can't peacebond it, it won't be allowed in the chess match, sorry.
