A forum section for AMVs

I'd like to suggest making a section on the forum for anime music videos, under the Convention Events directory respectively. Many of the con's primary events have a section for themselves, and find it odd there's not one simply for AMVs.

This was recently brought up in the Contests section and I figured it was worth mentioning

I think it's a great idea, and it seemed like several others thought the same. This post just got buried pretty quickly, I suppose. There are a lot of pros to AMV's having their own category, Guy can post updates in one consistent location, people know where to go for help, it is just a pretty clearly defined entity set apart from many other sections. It is already a big part, the only difference with it having its own section is that people would clearly see and know where to go for their AMV needs. I give it the thumbs up.

I think it would be better to rename the forum "AMVs and other Fan Creations"
The AMVs dominate that section for about half the year and then the fan artists and costume makers are back in control after the convention.

I suppose eventually it will warrant it's own section though, just like when we split the Live events and the other panels.

It is definitely a good idea, I will bring it up as a formal proposal at the meeting partially because as I've said before, it would greatly benefit Guy so he doesn't have to go hunting all over the forums for the pertinent threads.

It looks like the existing AMV threads are roughly split between the Fan Creations and Contests forums.

What do people think about merging Fan Creations and Contests entirely (the forum would cover both), and then making subforums for the various media? AMV, Fanart, Fanfic, Manga (should there be others?).

It seems to make more sense to categorize things by medium than whether it's a contest or not. And being that all of our contests (at last count) fall within either "Fan Creations" of some form, "Cosplay", or "Karaoke" (the latter two already having forum areas).

I've made a major reorganization to the Convention Events section, including sub-forums for Fan Creations (including AMV) and eliminating the Contests forum.
