Unfortunately, this is real. The movie is slated to premiere in about ten months or so.

Oh goodness me. That's not going to make MOST of the fans happy. > >;;; At least they're not turning it into a TV Drama like they did with Absolute Boyfriend. Maybe they'll actually stick to the plot?

Whatever, you kids.
Dragon ball was a super goofy show with melodramatic fighting, DragonballZ is a melodramatic fight scene with goofy characters.

This movie is going to be hilarious.
Just remember that Goku wasn't Japanese on the cartoon either. ^_^
I'm not going to tell you the best part of this movie because you guys are to busy hating it already to understand.

I slightly hated Speed Racer

I did enjoy the cartoony-anime-ish scene though, and the song at the end made me pretty happy

I loved speed racer! I thought it was it SUPER FANTASTIC! Maybe that was because I never watched speed racer and it was midnight. I thought they did a really good job bringing an old anime back into modern culture. I loved it lots.

I'm glad that people found enjoyment within... it, but my friends and I were battling many glorious urges to laugh in the midst of the theatre. Some of the effects were just beyond cheesy, unless that's what they were going for?

As for the DB movie I just don't see the point of modernizing it. I don't see the point of adapting it into live-action if they're not even going to follow the source material. And is it just me or does Goku's actor look a little... not...fun, to be playing such a free spirited guy? Ah well. All I can do is wait, watch, and inevitably, break out in giggles.

Good call. We'll watch it together.

I don't have a problem with a ridiculous DB movie because the show was ridiculous too (DB and DBZ). I can forsee this being like a lot of other movies in the same ballpark: made with a bit of seriousness, but with silly foreign graphical effects and jokes that are ten times as hilarious to a savvy white fellow.

I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to this movie.
Justin Chatwin has been a pretty good actor so far.
It may be cheesy, but that's the point! It's DragonBall.
I haven't seen much of DB, as I'm more of a DBZ fan, if it's not a given already. ~ ~ But I'm excited to see it.
Bashing the movie before it even comes out isn't cool, children. At least give it a chance, first.

I have to agree about the TV drama. >> They killed AB with the fact they changed the characters so much. I had been hoping they would have stuck with the school setting, but I guess it was a bit too 'risky'. Oh well. XP
But not all TV dramas are bad,too.. The Hana kimi is really good.. Well, the Japanese. The.. What is it? Taiwanise(I have no clue how to spell it) or something version kinda killed it.

But I also agree about the hair. XD It'll be interesting to see what they do and if they make the hair REALLY long like they do in the series when they made too many transformations. Despite how horrible it should be, it should be funny from the same reasons.
