Halloween Party
« on: October 07, 2004, 06:33:19 pm »
Hello Everyone,
Allow me to entice you-
Saturday, October 30, 7:00 pm, we will be hosting what we hope to be the coolest anime party EVER! Of course, that may be a bit ambitious, so I'll just give the details
We Will Have
-A Sushi Platter (or two depending on the number of people)
-An up and running Hot Tub for those adventurous types
-Several Rooms of Anime Viewing/ Gaming
and, of course
-the obligatory keg (I'll take suggestions on the type)

Cosplay is encouraged.

I need some sort of a head count, and don't want to post my address, so please, if you're interested PM ME. I will get back to you with directions ASAP. I will say we live in Portland, very close to Gresham, and MIGHT be able to supply rides.

I hope to have a lot of people, so tell your friends. Also, I'm open to suggestions on movies, games, extras, whatever. Just post them here. :D

See you there!
You'll be loved, you'll be loved, like you never have known. When memories of me will seem more like bad dreams. Just a series of blurs, like I never occurred. Someday, you will be loved.

Oooh.  I don't think I have anything planned for that day....Unless my friend Jessie's party is then.  If it isn't...I'll be there!  I'm cosplaying Sonstress Yuna....^_^

Oh thank goodness. I'm going to go ahead and give out my address now, in case anyone wants to drop in last minute.
15320 SE Harrison St. Portland OR 97233

I highly suggest a mapquest on this, as the last streets are a bit tricky, but my house is basically off division.

It seems like it will be pretty laid back.  Tell your friends.

Hrm.  I'll definitely be there.  My sister and I have a friend's party for 5:00, but since yours starts at 7:00, there shouldn't be any problem with hitting both.

(I'm making my sis dress as Sakano Hiroshi from Gravitation, just fair warning.  The shock can wear off before she gets....mobbed by glompers.  Though, I'm hoping the rabid fangirl thing is limited to conventions......*horrible feeling, looking over shoulder*....wait.  I'm going as a girl.  Not Duo Maxwell.  I'll be fine. )

Anyway.  I look forward to seeing you there!  And like superjaz said, should we bring snacks?

I haven't imposed an age limit, since it looks like the numbers should be pretty low. I do ask that no one do anything to get me in trouble ie underage drinking. There will be lots of anime and gaming and other fun stuff for people who aren't yet of age. Would anyone like to bring some age friendly beverages? Uwajimaya had tons of choices to keep people well hydrated long into the night.

For those of us of age, the keg will be Fat Tire Ale, as I am totally sucking up to Sean.  :)  (And I couldn't get Alaskan Amber.)   :D   :D

Dang, what should I wear, all of my costumes are for summer, it's gonna be too cold wearing them...
Oh yeah, one more thing, how long is this party gonna last?  I don't think I can show up at 7pm.  So if it ends at 10, there's no point showing up at all.

I'll only be able to show up for a little while, but I'll bring my Gackt Seventh Day single collection, my FFX-2 burn mix, and my mix of Anime songs, if you want.

edit:  My friend Eric wants to know if he can come.  (He's going to be in my cosplay next year, but was not fortunate enough to make this year's convention.)  He's a really good sport.  I actually talked him into proposing to Joe.  Though, he hasn't done it, so SHHH.  Sore wa himitsu desu.

if you want to trade some i have best of ruie kenshin and best of inu yasha (i know mispelt) and cowboy bebop vitaminless, a weird tenchi musical, for me kumori is the only acess to anime music infusion so if i can trade on get a new injection into my colection it'd be like my birthday (only with out my brother making me cry)
my only prob is i soo broke (my dog's left eye stoped making tears, its like "this is my winkin eye, THIS is my seein eye, vet bills up the waazoo) i might have to swich that 12pac to a 2-liter bottle, i can't even buy a book i'm dying to read, i'm going to be twichy till i do, The dark tower, the last dark tower book by stephen king

Yeah! I'm glad so many are coming! As to the hours - I will party till the partying is over. I actually turned down a greyhound adoption vistit for Sunday Morning (I'm adopting a second) since I thought the party might still be going on then.

Bring anything anime related for trade or viewing or listening. Makes my job easier.

I will endeavor to provide soda for anyone not interested in the alcohol.  Any snack foods, chips, pretzels, pocky, etc., would be great, but I am making fried won tons and getting the sushi platter.

Now one last question -  Should I be La Blue Girl?  :)

Please, god, someone take a picture of that.

Makes me believe the name "Imari" came from Bible Black...

Anyways, I wish I could go, but I live nowhere near Portland (even though I was born there).

So, I hope everyone has fun at the party. Someone take pictures and share them with us that can't make it. Then it'll be like we were there, so, that will be cool (I think, anyways).

Anyway, I am open to bringing the anime club, I really am hoping to have too many people show up. That would be great.

Whatever you like on the costume. I would just like for everyone to come and have fun!  We'll have plenty of anime eye candy on the big screen.

Speaking of that, would people like to play video games on the big screen, or watch anime movies? I have a smaller tv and the computer with DVD player set up in the smaller rooms in my house, and I'm trying to figure out where we should hook up the X box and Play Station.  We could just alternate between movies and games, if there is a consensus.

hmm... i would almost be willing to add my Empu to the stock pile of DVD playing things (my laptop has a DVD player in it) but im not sure about it enough to trust having fun (i tend to be a worry wort with it... its my precious...) so i think it depends on the reply to this post... it may not even be needed lol

i think having playable games aswell as vids would be fun for all and it really does work to watch anime on computers... but maybe we could all share the big screen  :D

thanks for the offer on the link costumes but i think im gunna go pirate wench/gypsy (which im still trying to finish... lol) hope to see you all at the party.

Yeah, Burnout 3: Takedown is so much fun. Must....get...Fire Truck.

I have so many new games I am currently playing, aside from Burnout. I am also currently playing Fable, Mortal Komabt: Deception, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, SRS: Street Racing Syndicate (which I actually havn't started yet), and Destruction Derby Arena.

All of them are great games too, so I have trouble picking which to play daily.

Man, this party sounds like such a good time.

Argh, why can't scientists create transporters like on Star Trek?

Then I'd be there with bells on, as the saying goes.

Battle Royale is awesome, but I like Versus better.

I forced my Ojiisan to watch Versus the other day. He thinks I am so messed up in the head now, LOL. The dub wasn't too bad for that, either.

Okay, so we cleaned out the garage and are going to set up a TV out there as well. That's where the keg is, so it's a no minors area. I think that should clear up some of the worry.  You can bring your beer into the other rooms, too, we can just monitor it better this way, in case anyone shows up thinking we should. Of course, if the attendance is low, we won't worry about it so much. We just want to set some guidelines before a hundred people we didn't expect show up. (That would be so coooll... :) )

I am hoping to get some signs out on Division to lead people in.

Did anyone notice the hot tub availability? We just drained and cleaned it this week. :) I have the strangest feeling I'm going to get thrown in... Of course, it may not be best for some of the costumed people, I just don't want anyone missing out who might be interested.

Look forward to seeing everybody!

it was good.  a bit bizarre...but in a good way imo.  and I ended up crashing and when I woke the next day, I had something close to a hang over even though I didn't drink(I had a bad case of sinus once it started to get really late).  All in all, it was a good party.

PS: who was the pirate girl again?  the one I was talking about FY with
