Live Action Astroboy!

In 2009, the live action adaptation of Astroboy is set to come out. Astroboy will be played by Freddy Highmore (Spiderwick Chronicles, Willy Wonka, Arthur & The Invisibles) and Nicholas Cage will play someone...else, lol. Does this sound surprising to anyone? I can't say I'm surprised, but I am fascinated, to say the least.

well I'm not that big of a fan of astro boy but I'll see the movie totally. I'm not sure on their choice of freddy highmore though. lol

Don't get me wrong, I like his acting in most things (August Rush was awesome), but it seems like he is Hollywood's only young boy actor, or that's how they may see it anyway, heh.

ha ha yeah. from what I've seen their aren't to many young male actors. I mean they have some Disney stars but I don't think they'd fit very well. he seems to be the only possible choice as of now.

Ah, yeah, I found that out months after reading the original article. A little less impressive, but also a lot more promising. I have higher hopes for it now.

Yeah, live action might be a little disturbing but CGI I'll definitely go see it.

This is the same thing they did awhile ago with the young male actor in the sixth sense and star wars episode I  at the time he was the hot new male child actor and he was in everything haven't heard much lately though. 

I like freddy highmore though it will be interesting to see how this pans out.
