Well the 2008 Olympics is coming up. Just a few days away now. Is anyone else looking forward to it and what is the events you are looking forward to?

I am personally a big fan of the gymnastics preferably girls.....there is something that is nasty about guys doing those tricks.

Anyone else?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE OLYMPICS. Although I like the Winter ones better...

I'm really looking forward to diving, gymnastics (BUT BOTH PAUL AND MORGAN HAMM HAD TO WIDTHDRAW. HEARBREAK.), and probably swimming (ALTHOUGH I AM NOT A MICHAEL PHELPS FAN.)

swimming, for me, is the summer's make-up for speed skating (WHICH I ABSOLUTELY ADORE)!

I was listening to NPR (National Public Radio) the other day on the way to the gym, and actually Bejing has taken a lot of measures to reduce it (temporarily at least). A lot of the tourist that go over there currently are really pleasantly surprised by it!

They have taken a LOT of measures to reduce the amount of smog in the area but they say there's still a lot floating around and athletes are still concerned about it.

My favorite events are the track events especially the hurdles. After doing them, I can't help but respect anyone else who competes in the event.

I'm excited for them! I always love the global attention that seems to surround the Olympics. It is like the family getting together to watch a movie for the holidays, but it is the whole planet, lol. That sounds cheesy, but I dunno, I enjoy taking part and following them. I don't have any particular event that I look forward to. I have always like the gymnastics, I suppose (hold your tongues and comments

) But yes, I'm stoked.

I'm so what looking forward to it. I love swimming and soccer. gymnastics is such a thrill to watch too. all those flips and stuff...*shivers* :3

They start on August 8 at 8PM. I'm not sure if its at China's time or just eastern.

The neat thing behind the date is that the number 8 is a lucky number in Buddhism, so it'd be 8/8/08

Oh I'm sure you can already find them!! There are already plushies available for the 2010 winter mascots (much cuter, in my opinion)

I've never been to Canada, but it always seems so pleasant. I'd love to go, and that is awesome that the Olympics will be there. And those mascots are indeed adorable.

eh heh back on topic I kinda don't like the olympics mostly because the poor athletes everyone in the world is watching them and a lot of the time they perform as such. Dunno its just in the past i've watched some and they don't seem very epic, to balance the hype... But thats just me, in the end they are amusing to watch

And yeah canada is nice, good healthcare, even though its hard to get it heh. But thats the way i believe it should be, the first to get there is the first who gets care, not whoever has the most money.

The Gold metalist in saber... Muriel Zegunis... I FENCED HER!!! She trains where I do, and I've been fencing for a while... and she was there and my coach brought her over to show me some complicated moves
