But yeah, I usually show at most of the major meets, whether or not I'm wanted there. ^_^

Usually I come and hope that I'm accepted. Just flowing with what comes up. That usually gets me no trouble but also no excitement. No excitement, but also no trouble. Sacrificing possibly bigger fun for safe neutrality.
To me coming to things like this are like sailing a ship on the open sea. It's hard to know what's right unless you venture in and try it, even if it might seem to you like a friendship crushing risk to take. And I'm only afraid of being too much or not enough.

Luckily, I haven't had much fear when I've come to these events. I've found that if I think too deeply, I tend to worry myself silly.

Whoa, Jack Sparrow. I still understood that. But like I said, if you think too much about it, you'll worry so much that you'll clam up. You'll be there but too afraid to open up. You won't know if it's alright to come up to them and jump in, and they won't know if it's alright to come to you and bring you in.

Think of it this way in the words of Yoda:
Fear is the path to the dark side (full of sadness and pain)
Fear leads to anger (Fear of rejection leads to anger for not having tried when you had the chance)
Anger leads to hate (hating yourself for not taking the chance when you had it.)

GEEZ, you guys talk a lot! But yeah, I totally see your point here. I know it's fiction (is TV still considered fiction? Well, like many have already said, there is really nothing wrong with hanging around with other people who are a few years younger than you. If you're afraid of that it would seem to make sense that you'd be afraid of the whole of Kumoricon as well.

It's not like everyone attending this thing is going to be kids, Nikkiolie is 20, and there are several others (heck, if I come I'll be a 21 year old, but I'm a guy, so that probably doesn't matter, lol). My point is, nobody is going to think anything about someone a couple years older hanging with a group that may have a few people who are younger. I think the only person putting that much pressure and paranoia on you is you (not directed at anyone specific, just whoever may feel like this event is inappropriate for them). If you really feel like it'd be a problem due to any secret fears or fears of intent, then just don't go. Go do something else. There are only like, thirty things going at any given time at this place; it's a great place to be, and you never HAVE to be anywhere if you're going to be uncomfortable with yourself.

Next year I'll make sure to remember to ask if the pool is considered con space.

Indoor pools are not part of conspace since they are usually locked, this is a special case though.

Hmm... I could cosplay as Piro without a problem; I remember a scene in Megatokyo where he gets in a pool and so forth; I could pull that off. The hair, check. Glasses, check. Sarcastic and naive style, check. Wardrobe, check.

well i was going to get my hair dyed anyway, plus using my own hair for a hairdo such as Temari's is so much easier than trying to do it on a wig. Plus I LOVE my hair and it does almost anything I want it to.
