Swimsuit/Cosplay Photoshoot/Pool Party!

On Saturday, Day 1 of the convention, at 5 pm... Meet at the hotel pool with your camera for a SUPER AWESOME FUNTIME POOL ADVENTURE! 

Two years ago, K-con 2006 had a catgirl pool party where various catgirls/boys (as well as the regular human types) frolicked in the pool and had fun.  This year, we're bringing it back (sort of)!  We'll have a photoshoot in and around the water, so you can choose to stay in cosplay as long as you don't mind getting a little wet.  You can also become Tamaki SWIMSUIT EDITION or Haruhi WATER POLO EDITION!  Or if you don't have the time to plan a custom swimsuit along with the other 30 outfits you're working on, just relax and take a break in the pool in whatever you like (as long as it follows the dress code!  We don't want the hotel yelling at K-con staff for indecent exposure). 

It's suggested you bring a swimsuit along with you if you're getting near the water anyways.  Hotel staff had a little issue of people swimming with regular clothes on last year, so be prepared to change, or stay a few feet back.

FAQ because a lot of you are asking the same questions. 

I don't have a room at the hotel.  Will I still be able to attend?
Yes.  Just YES.  There are no more strings attatched to this.  Just a simple yes.

What time does it start at?
5 pm on Saturday.  The top of the post says that. 

How long will it go till?
I'm estimating an hour to an hour and a half.  You don't have to stay for the whole time though. 

Where is it?
The DoubleTree's pool.

Couldn't you just go in a swimsuit as long as your hair is done or something? One costume is paper mache and I'd rather have a swimsuit on anyway. And my sister's cosplay is made in India so were afraid it could easily lose color when wet.

Well that is the best thing to do. The only way to tell what character you are is by the hair style most of the time. I am going to try to find a small fan for Temari ^_^

I doubt I'll be initially in a swimsuit because I'll have just rushed from another photoshoot to here and I don't want to buy a bright red swimsuit I'll never wear again. XD; But after WATER PHOTOSHOOT in my regular cosplay, I'll probably change so I can frolick in the water like an idiot. XD;;

I don't really eat that much at home, since I'm a vegetarian and all we ever have is food revolving around dead animals T_T

Nikki I think you should still eat. Not eating is pretty bad for you. I wish I had the luxury of edible goods!

For eating Ryu, you could just eliminate some of the stuff in your diet. I haven't drunk soda in like a year, and I have no great urge to. And I've never felt better! *thumbs up*

I sadly have to work for usually less than 6 hours so I don't get a lunch break and when I got to work at 4:30 and get off at 10 I don't want to do anything but come back and sleep and my parents don't make dinner before 6 so I usually eat lunch and have candy during my break.....that is typically what I eat all day ^_^

i read an article about soda years ago...2 pages of how bad it is for you and with food i've been contemplating a few things imma try when i get back into work now xD

wow I can't believe how paranoid people are about this. Get over it nothing is going to happen. I am 20 and I am not going to hit on guys under 18 and I am not worried. I am having people under 18 staying at my house during the con and I am not worried. The chance of something bad happening is very low and maybe only if you piss someone off.

My brother once went out with a sixteen year old, and snogged her in public when a cop saw. Found out they were doing the horizontal monster mash as well. Counted as statutory rape, apparently. Now my own brother is a registered sex offender. Before I do anything more than a hug or a glomp, I gotta see some ID just to be on the safe side cause I don't wanna have my whole life ruined with the "registered sex offender" label. It doesn't come off as easy as some folks might think.

I am 21 in 4 days and I went to nikkolie's B day party meetup. I was the only guy there and I felt a little like I was stopping them from doing only-girl stuff, but no one saw a problem.

From my observation, if there is a problem with you in the group they will let you know. If there's something non-random someone wants to talk about or do, they will let you know. Other than that just hang loose and float along...especially in the pool. (pool, floating funny)
