They never specify; is it Georgia, the country, or Georgia, the State?
The skepticism is strongly reasoned - Georgia is an odd place for the body of a large animal to be found for the first time in history. Most of the large hard-to-believe-in mammals known or believed to exist or have existed have been traced to areas that are more remote, such as Alaska, the central United States, northern Canada, far east Russia, large mountain ranges, inland Mexico, rainforests, and the ocean.
I'm not saying this is fake absolutely - there are many reports of mammals that walk upright and have properties fitting within the primate and pilosa orders in the Western Hemisphere, but most of the factual large upright land mammals in the Americas have been extinct much longer than humans have been present here.
I did a little big of looking around, and
this[/img] may be relevant if it's the Republic of Georgia and not Georgia, USA.
