Duh! - EASY CHOICE! I'll take the injury. Might even get some money from a lawsuit for lost wages, insurance settlement, etc. And your friends can still visit anytime. And you're still free to *try* to get up and walk down the hall and back as you recover. And I might be able to work from the hospital bed using a laptop. And pain for me in this life is time off from Purgatory.

Jail for me would mean I'd VERY likely have to give up certain of my *toys,* also I'd get a permanent record making it hard to get any sort of job where they do background checks, (for at least 10yrs) I'd no longer be welcome and have to quit the SAR/Sheriff's Posse, and have NO real income for the year. Plus as a geeky kind of guy I'd be terrified of getting beaten black and blue, or raped, by whatever cruel thugs I'm in with.
