From this topic http://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=7945.0 Eve and I figured we should do a sushi lunch thing for PSU students during New Student Week (the week before classes start). It would be a great way for PSU anime students and freshmen (especially congoers and sushi and anime lovers) to bond and have a great time together

Where: Sushi Ichiban

Meeting spot: In front of the Smith Building (between Neuberger and Cramer Hall)

When: Wednesday, September 24th @ 11 am - 1pm (or sometime between those hours)

And, anyone have a preference which Sushi Ichiban we go to? There's one on Broadway down past Burnside or there is Sushi Ichiban 2 which is up near Barbur on Sixth.

I personally prefer SI 2, I've been there more and it is more laid back. It is considerably smaller though, so if we end up having a group of people, it may be better to go to the one on Broadway.

Ah okay...hmm well I don't want any forum lurkers to jump on the gun and show up without any rhyme or reason and end up making the group too big lol. Idk how we're gonna get an accurate headcount on this one. I'm cool with whatever decision you make though; I've never been to SI XD

Well, I wouldn't expect enough people to overload it, but I agree, don't want any of those lurkers to show up *shakes fist* lol

Well, we can decide on a day once we get some feedback from people interested. I am fine with any day currently, so I can't really pick one over any other yet.

O.o making a PSU sushi meet up.....I may have to challenge you and make an OSU one MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. total joke by the way. I would like to go but I'm not going to PSU and I'll be in Corvallis at the time. But I may drag my friends to the Japanese restaurant there >_>

We must all synchronize our watches and have sushi at the exact same time, PSU and OSU. Then do group checks every minute or so via group-phone-chat and discuss the sushi we are having like a conference (but over the phone), lol.

well, I work the weekdays 9-5, but if we meetup around the lunch hour, say anywhere from 11 to 1 I can go then. Or after work around 5. I could also probably get some time off to attend since its school related.

Well I was thinking about getting sushi with my friends anyway.....but a lot of them are poor and the sushi places in Corvallis are quite expensive.

the one on broadway is kinda limited on some food items, as they cant fry alot (i know your saying its sushi why fry, but my hunny hates fish and some sushi places have good chicken katsu)
they can no fry much because the classrooms above will smell, i know i have had classes there
i found this out when my gyoza was cold

Ah, yet another bad thing I've heard about that place (you're talking about Bluefin, right?). Yeah, Sushi Ichiban is nice, they have a nice selection of fried, non-sushi dishes.

Yeah, preferably. I can always tell my boss its an important school thing and he'll let me go. So whatever, but I dont lose any moneys if we do it on a weekend or during the lunch hour.

He's going to Community College first, then probably transferring to PSU later.

Meh, I have to work wednesday nights so I'm not sure how it'll work out.

Haven't registered for classes I'm so lazy, I should talk to a graduation adviser and find out what I should take, if I read things right I can get a BS with just one class.

I try to sleep during the day so I don't die from lack of sleep at work.

However, I think I might be able to go, I signed up for a class that starts at 2:00pm so I could sneak down there and sushi before class.
