Yeah I am going to buy my costume this year. It will be the first costume that I have ever bought (out of 4 total) so that makes me happy. I figure that I will have the money and that costume looks kinda hard >_>

good luck making the clouds though. I think it would be much better if you made your own than if you bought it.

Everyone always buys those cloaks so I am happy that someone is taking the time to make one.

I order my wig for Kimimaro today and tomorrow I will get my check and order the costume and get the bones to make the sword

I pronounce it na-ru-to(only with out spaces) because thats what I learned in japanese class, and thats how i hear it when i watched subed anime,(with exeption if empasis is put on it like a whine) .  tho i am not very good on giving the r's the slight L sound  its supost to have, but that is a toung not listening to me issue

why i ask is during the charity auction, i would say naruto and some peeps in the front would shout
"its naruto naruto naruto!!111"

it got a little anyoying. so i am just asking what is the deal?, I am told that its because the american anime pronouces his name like that? which i wouldnt know because i'm a sub junkie, some dubs cause me physical pain

I always pronounce it like they do in the anime.....i think it is the same way you do as well. I have taken three years of Japanese and I'm pretty sure that is how they pronounce it....but I could be wrong

the nar just dosent seem right tho as broken up in japanese its na ru to eeven when considering the mouths shape would be preparing for the r for the slight roll that i just cant do, that only pairing i see that is with a small tsu like in pakkun for the extra k
 i didn't get a minor in japanese for nothing, my question is more on is the american version differnt?

Definitely do not put full trust in dubbing pronunciations.  That's what the original audio is for.

yes! what I need is a little speaker loaded with clips from naruto, of peeps saying naruto in japanese, so at next years charity auction when sub watchers are yelling how to say naruto, i can just play it....

Oh, just something I thought I'd mention.

To anyone planning on making your own sandals for Sakuracon, I'd suggest buying the flipflops now.  I don't know whether or not flipflops will be back in season by April, and there's a 75% off sale on sandals at our local Rite Aid at the moment.  I got a really comfy pair (with surprisingly good arch support) for my next costume for about $1.50.  Something to keep in mind.

I'm working on the bone sword now....the tip isn't staying on so I had to make it out of clay and now there is a visible line where I added it......I am going to try sanding it once the paint dries

I used this guide: http://liz.spain.googlepages.com/narutosandaltutorial  to make our sand sibling sandals.  They turned out surprisingly comfy, though Kankurou got a blister from the rubber part of the flip flop.  I'm going to use it again for my next costume, as the directions are pretty easy to follow.

If sanding doesn't work, you could perhaps use spackling compound to get rid of the line.

And he'll switch between his Kakashi costume and the Afro Gai.... depending on a skit in the works I may put the Lee costume back on for a little while as well. But it's pretty warm to wear... and a little itchy. ^^;
