That's alright. I'm not sure if we'd be able to make it during Thanksgiving weekend because I think we're spending that with our dad.

Hmm... I was thinking of applying to join, but ran into a snag. I already have both my cosplay for Kcon '09 and '10 planned out. '09 is Wedding dress Yuna and '10 is KOS-MOS from Xenosaga III... can't change since I've already started and am... well, poor. But I can help with costumes and such. I was the Princess Garnet at con this year.

cosplay is purely optional. I have a rather large cosplay list myself so I'm not sure if I'll join in on the 09 cosplay either.

curiously, how advance are your sewing skills? Mine are mostly at a novice level, being self taught.

I am half self-taught, and taught just a bit by my mom when I run into a snag. Hm... I think I'm at least moderate. I can read patterns, find the straight of the grain, etc. Here's a picture of my cosplay from this year:

sounds like you're right above me then. I can read patterns, but sometimes I strugge to understand what its saying(partly because I dun know the technical terms). while I found making shinigami(bleach) somewhat simple to make, the more recent high priestess(ragnarok online) was much more complex and I struggled for over a year on it.

XD The skirt took a day to make, and the shirt took two days, because of the boning and a major screw-up. The Tiger Racket needs major fixing, though... I ran out of hot glue >.>

Nope. Added boning to the lining of the shirt itself. The costume is in two pieces, the upper and lower.

current group cosplay project(incase you're unaware) is Strawberry Panic. Since you're already have a very busy cosplay list, you may be able to help others with sewing. as far as I know, you and myself, are the only ones with any knowledge of sewing so we could get together with those who also want learn.

short terms plans as for right now is mew con(for those who are attending) and to watch Strawberry Panic together.

Yeah... I've never even heard of strawberry panic. Most of what I can do will have to be sewing and such at the moment, since the only cons I have a chance to attend are SakuraCon and KCon. KCon is pretty much assured, but sakuracon maybe, maybe not. For Sakura I will be Garnet again, and maybe Uzumaki Kashino(Naruto's mom) and Pride!Ed(meh avi, Ed elric as a homunculus)

Strawberry Panic is a yuri series(girlxgirl love). it has lots of cute character that a number of people already have laid claims on.

mew con is this new years in vancouver.

only most of the group is going to sakura, some are purely to hang out. I am going myself, currently planned are a persona 3, a sekirei, maybe a tower of druaga and ragnarok online if I can manage for the year of 09(both cons)

if you do Garnet(KCon '08), Yuna!Wedding(KCon '09), and KOS-MOS(with all the trimmings, KCon '10) YOU HAVE TO START EARLY!

I have too many ideas so I have to decide on which ones out of the list. plus, I tend to do a lot of research which takes up a lot of time as well. and of course, I'm lazy so I have that to consider. hopefully, I dun become too lazy and my funds are able to handle it all.

I'm willing to help you with cosplay in any way if you want Cassiopeia. that goes for the rest of the group.

I may be able to make Nagisa's costume... it doesn't look hard, and I think we have the supplies for it. If we do a skit for a con, it wouldn't be difficult to change in and out of my main cosplay. Ten minutes tops, probably five.

I had my wisdom teeth removed today and I'm still in a lot of pain.

my vol 1 light novel of the series has some good ref pictures for Nagisa has well as some details on the dress. Speaking of which, I've been considering crossplaying Shizuma so we may be able to trade notes as well.

looking in my light novel, she looks like has brown hair. there may be a case where she has different colors depending on the medium.

And to answer your question Sugar-chan....
Yaya's hair I've noticed is a medium dark brown. But is sometimes lightish dark brown....
basically meduim/dark brown is your friend :333

I mention the light novel as I usually have it right in front of me. the light novel, I'm guessing, will be very similar in detail to the manga, but the anime from what little I've seen(which is like a screenshot or two) uses a lot less detail and colors will vary. In my light novel alone, I've seen shizuma with either lavender hair or silver hair, while its more greyish in the anime.

I likely won't see the anime til the meet up. I"m mostly just reading the manga as it comes out. I may get the light novels beyond volume 1 which has mostly been an interesting read.
