Seriously??? WASHINGTON?!? I have a hard enough time getting to PORTLAND guys... Can we try for something a little more South so my dad doesn't kill me when I go up to him and say "Hey this _____ can you take me up to ______ for my cosplay group practice?" I know this is asking much... but if we're going to be suggesting traveling, let's try for something that helps people like me, who has to worry about a two hour drive. =/

I take the bus.  Just Portland by itself takes me a hour to get to.

It's still two hours. No matter HOW I get up there it's going to be a two hour commute. That's what happens when you live... two hours away...

Is everyone that's going to be participating in the skit going to be able to attend a meeting this weekend?

@Shay
Thats fine.  I have nothing against Vancouver.  My mother lives up there after all.  It just a long trip such nature wears me out heavily(particularly after doing it for a year in the past...) that I'm usually reluctant to make such trips.  A more advance warning for Vancouver may be best as less then a week notice is difficult.

I wasn't trying to snap at your or anything Shay, but traveling even further than Portland is just more incentive for my dad to say no, Portland being bad enough. I'm going to have to do some serious chores for him to take me... -_-;;

Hm.. with the Sunday at 1pm... will it conflict with the early con and Mock Battle practices?

As for busing to Vancouver, I've done it. It's a pain in the ass, in my opinion. XD You take a bus to the Max station, get off at a stop near a C-tran bus stop, like downtown or parkrose/sumner, take the c-tran to vancouver, then take another bus to get to where you're going.

Maybe I'm just mad that the c-tran website won't give me an accurate step-by-step from portland to vancouver, but only the other way around. >.> It'll also take about two hours, depending on where I'd be going in Vancouver. So maybe a ride?

My mom hates me going up to Vancouver by myself anyway. XD

Hmm... I can make it Friday, Sunday if it doesn't conflict with early con, 17th, 18th, and any time after the 24th. I maybe able to do the 19th and 20th too, depending on if my mom decides to leave two days early for Montana or not.

It seems nearly impossible to set up a meet up at this point.
if we have the meeting in Camas it will definetly not allow anyone to go to the
3 weeks early meet up which I plan on attending [/even though i totally forgot about it til this morning]

Um...Still not definite on the going to California thing next week.
I live close like a 30-60 minute transit to portland and...I'm like.... afraid to ride the bus back home...
Judging from the kumoricon calander the only open weekend is....Sunday 30th OTL

That's far to late...Week of the 23rd is open.
Ill be away on the 22 and 23. I have plans.

There's no time for mixing if we don't get any practice time in and seriously one read through of the draft is not good.
Friday + Saturday I'll be away but as I said before I dont have to be there someone just needs to be able to fill in my spot.

One run through of it should be fine for me to try to get the timing. But it'll be incredibly hard and possibly impossible to do.
I don't know if everyone will be able to record their lines and send it to me on time as well.

Still no word on the stage dimensions either...
OTL I just don't know what to do anymore. Location is a problem. Time is a problem. People not showing up is an even bigger problem!

Note on locations: Camas, at least where I live in it, is around ten minutes away from Portland. Just mentioning that.
If it can't be there though, I won't be able to make a meeting until next month, and then I have school.

I agree that if we memorize our lines, that one or two runs through should be enough for timing, particularly since by then we should have the stage dimentions. I don't know if they'll be able to hear us though, if we're just talking, since I believe someone said they don't have many microphones. Maybe we could practice the day before, assuming people don't have plans more important than our group skit.

I will try my best to be there at the meeting if not please absent notice me.
It seems that we will be going to California on Monday and I'll have to pack as well as deal with all the stuff from the shop being in my room.

As far as Camas, the only Camas I can find is in Washington and there's no transit there from Portland and it's a 30 minute drive.

Am I too late to catch anything? And also, why can't we meet here, which would be vastly easier for me to understand and remember?

Seriously, guys, people need to actually show up for meetings. =\ I know it's a hard concept to get your heads around, but the skit is gonna suck if nothing gets done.

I really think we need a whole day (like 12-5? or something) of practicing.
I'm not even in the skit, but I'd love to help. ='D

There is certainly a lot of frustration going on in getting the skit ready.  While some people certainly have no or very role in the skit and generally don't have much to do with the skit itself(other then provide feedback & ideas), its can be distressing when its on top of most people who have major parts in the skit who are missing.
I think a possible better option for next year at least, is maybe only require the meetings for those who have a major part in whatever skit we make for next year.  Also, find maybe find some other way to don't have to free time to commit to a skit, to be involved.  IRL Meetings are very difficult since everyone is very far spread out.  Maybe let them do something of their own during the panel?
As for online meetings themselves, maybe they need more reworking as well so people feel like they can be involved.

My main problem with online meetings other than that I don't spend that much time on the internet is the location of them. This may sound lame to you guys, but before joining I had never used msn, and I still have no idea how it really works. I have no other use for an msn account, and as such I never think about it or check it. I think if we could all just meet Sundays at 5:30 on the forum, that would be easier.
Also, I don't see how much online meetings can help with the skit.

@Sugar
wasn't it Krock?  Kinky was gone for a month and has poor luck with MSN.

@Michiyo
Main problem with forum meeting is the nature of it slows everything down.  maybe different form of meeting like a private internet chatroom that just needs an internet browser will be easier on you and others that have problems with msn.

Maybe our group site could get a c-box? I've put c-boxs in on other forums, and I imagine it couldn't be much harder to put one in on that site. I find c-boxs are very convenient.
And I also think more frequent meetings would be nice. The rule could change so that you have to attend at least one meeting a week, so there's a second chance if you forget the first meeting of the week.

Alright guys
I've updated the website and now we have a chat place with no download needed.
You don't have to sign up for the site but it would help a lot to know who you are.
The chatforum is called Chatango and is free.
There's a link to it from the website and it will open on a new browser/tab and we can chat easily from there.
my account on there is Kotoko1223.
A fast way to reach it is also typing in to your url:
http://cakeonaplane.chatango.com/

ALSO
Those who haven't updated their page please do.
This site was supposed to be finished like...LAST MONTH
and more then half of you have not updated your page.
Please take this seriously cause it's pushing my buttons the wrong way and I might just end up yelling at you.

Honestly I'm way too busy working to worry about the site and my page. The only days I get off are the weekend, and once september rolls around I won't even be getting those because the two other waitresses are going back to school.

And THEN when the weekend does roll around, I'm too busy doing things that I don't have time to do during the week.

This weekend was one of those rare weekends when I didn't have anything that had to get done, so I was free to play. I had the plans for going to the Scandi fest for more than a month now, so there was no way I was going to bail to go to the meeting.

Honestly, I'm way too busy with work to do much of anything... I come home and I'm good to get some dinner before I crash. I've still been doing pretty damn good to make it to the meetings (*coughWHENWEHAVETHEMcough*) and making inputs and doing the job Leader left for me.
This is my life. These are my choices.

We might be getting DSL internet soon, which would be amazing, but until then, anything browser based won't work for me. Especially the forums, because they take a while to load. D:
