The Best Karaoke Music
« on: December 17, 2004, 05:31:16 pm »
I am currently in charge of creating a library of music for the karaoke competitions, and I need your help! Please let me know what you think is the best music, or at least the music you would like to see on the list , especially if you know what you are singing in the competition.  It would be great to have as many people using the actual word- scrolling- across- a- screen format as possible, instead of a vocal fader. Even if you just like a song, and would sing it only with your friends, let me know. Others probably like it, too.
Thank you!
You'll be loved, you'll be loved, like you never have known. When memories of me will seem more like bad dreams. Just a series of blurs, like I never occurred. Someday, you will be loved.

Can you possibly find 2 karaoke versions of songs from Full Metal Alchemist?

Melissa and READY STEADY GO

If you could that would be awesome.

I'm thinking about doing the karaoke competition but I was wondering if it's okay to do a Japanese song that isn't connected to Anime?
I did find the karaoke version of the song I'm thinking of doing (i.e. a version without the singer in it)

I'm hoping to go to this con, and participate in the karaoke, so here's a few songs I think could be requested (or might do myself!).

Eguchi Matsueda - Sen no Kotoba (1000 Words) {Final Fantasy X-2}

Eguchi Matsueda - Real Emotion {Final Fantasy X-2}

Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Rewrite {iFull Metal Alchemist, OP 4}

Shiratori Emiko - Melodies of Life {Final Fantasy IX}

Yoko Kanno - Inner Universe {Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex OP} (Heh, this one could be difficult, so maybe not  :lol: )

Steve Conte - Heaven's Not Enough {Wolf's Rain}

Steve Conte - Stray {Wolf's Rain OP}

Maaya Sakamoto - Gravity {Wolf's Rain ED}

Aikawa Nanase - Owarinai Yume {Inu-yasha OP...  :?  3?}

Do As Infinity - Shinjitsu no Uta (also called Shinjitsu no Shi) {Inu-yasha ED...  :?  5?}

Namie Amuro - Come {Inu-yasha ED 7}

See-Saw - Obsession {.hack//twilight OP}

L'Arc-En-Ciel - Ready Steady Go {Full Metal Alchemist OP 2}

Hamasaki Ayumi - Still Alone {Inu-yasha}

Namie Amuro - Four Seasons {Inu-yasha Movie 3 ED}

Rikki - Suteki Da Ne {Final Fantasy X}

Rammstein - Otherworld {Final Fantasy X}

Yaida Hitomi - Innocence {Inu-yasha}

Do as Infinity - Tangerine Dream {Inu-yasha}

Every Little Thing - Ai No Uta {Inu-yasha Movie 2}

V-6 - I Want to Change the World {Inu-yasha OP 1}

BoA - Fukai Mori {Inu-yasha ED 2}

Dream - My Will {Inu-yasha ED 1}

Every Little Thing - Yura Yura {Inu-yasha Movie 2}

Hitomi - I Am {Inu-yasha OP 2}

Day After Tomorrow - Itazurana Kiss (or Kisu) {Inu-yasha OP? ED? I forget...}

Heh heh... just a short list... A lot of Inu tunes, it seems to be popular... I even left some out!

Some of these might not be altogether suitable for karaoke, I suppose.  :oops:

Word of the wise, I think you can only pick one song for the actual competition.  But if you still want to do all these songs you can do them during open mic.  (I'm not the expert so please, so one who is, clarify)

And as a slightly unrelated question, when will the official rules for the karaoke competition be up (approximately when)?  I'd like to know so I can start practicing on a certain song.  I'm still hoping to try a Japanese non-anime song but I still don't know if it will be allowed.  If not, I'll have to make another choice or try one of my filks.

^_^- If you haven't already finished, could you please add;
T.M. Revolution - 'Ignite'
Orange Range - 'Locolation'
Porono Graffiti 'Lack'
I have another song, but I don't know who sings it, beacuse it's a burned CD. It's off of 'The Best of Inuyasha' and it's track 4. :3
Thank you.

Yep. You can, (and I can say cuz I makes the rules!)

Anyway,  one of the competitions will allow for Japanese music of any source, anime or not. It was that way last year, too, we've just done a little reorganizing.

By the way what song? And can I please get a copy?

You can only do one song in the competition. However, there will be two competitions, hopefully karaoke rooms, and an open mic session, if all goes well.

I will have the rules up as soon as I can. They are already pretty established, its just a question of getting it onto the site. Sorry about the delay, but if you have any questions, please PM me.

On a different note...
I am having the most miserable time finding karaoke versions of songs with scrolling lyrics. I'd like the mp3+g format so I can easily organize songs for the competition. Any one having a deeper knowledge of a good place to order discs please HELP! Even the people who I've asked who make there livings at karaoke are having trouble finding sources. I'm willing to create the tracks myself, if someone can give me some good advice on what program to use.  Worst case scenario, we'll have to use the vocal fader again.

Please keep telling me what you want to hear. I'll keep compiling right up to the competition if I can.
You'll be loved, you'll be loved, like you never have known. When memories of me will seem more like bad dreams. Just a series of blurs, like I never occurred. Someday, you will be loved.

as far as singing ability, presentation and creativity--there were some pretty good acts last year--most of them actually and no bad ones.  Maybe one obnoxious one but otherwise it's the best contest I've been to--better than Sakura Con's hands over.

That's cause we audition.

I hope I wasn't the obnioxious one... don't say though. I don't want anyone embarrassed.

BTW The Guspasho posting above was me. I didn't log off my boyfriend before posting.

I'm sorry I probably shouldn't have said that--"obnoxious."  I guess I may have been remembering that last year the contest went on way too long, so I was critiquing someone and hoping the contest will end soon.  That was probably the only thing that was wrong with it last year.  contests should only be a couple of hours.  But it's a stage, right?  So you can act any way you wish.
