A bodysuit would be a good place to start. You would have to hide the harness for the wing-blades under that, so fanangling a way into it would be interesting. The coil of cable hanging out of his stomach would be the next major stepping stone. You would have to find a way to thread the cable (or stuff you're using for cable) through the bodysuit without it sagging so as to create a 3D spool effect. His heart would be the easiest part, simply glue the canister to the requisite place and paint.

The problem with props like the wings is making them sturdy enough not to fall apart when you bump things.  Which you most certainly will, in crowded con halls.  I'd suggest using wire to make the basic shape, then using papier mache on the wings.  It's light and durable (not waterproof though :X), and holds up well.

I was just thinking about how one would go about making Sasori, and I was thinking perhaps you could get ahold of the torso of a mannequin that they use in stores to display clothes.  You might be able to cut it in half and wear the front of it over your actual chest, then just add the coil of wire and stuff to that.  I don't know how cheap/practical that would be though...

I was able to buy a huge sheet of plastic to make the claw for one of my costumes. That would work really well for the wings but I am not sure if it would hold up well if you bumped into anything....maybe if you bolted them together it will hold up fine (I just used a hot glue gun was why I thought it might not hold up not because the plastic wasn't sturdy)

its very light....I mean the whole sheet isn't but it is 70'' x 48'' so that is HUGE (all of it weighs about 8 lbs, or at least that is what the package said) It would weigh about the same as a pair of angle wings that you would put on your back.

Well if you are wearing a really epic costume like that then you don't have to worry about random people attacking you. They will always ask (or at least from what I have experenced) so they wont ruin their costume. My Albel costume was the same way and I never got attacked.....but I never wore it very long.

Yeah, you won't have to worry about getting attacked.  From my experience, if you have big/fragile props, people ask before hugging.  Or give you ample warning (aka, running at you screaming, so you can brace yourself >.<).  The thing I'd be more worried about is people not paying attention in the halls.  You might want to make it so you can fold the wings down or something to get them closer to your body, for maneuvering in the hallways.  Or just don't wear them inside. :/

Sasori Took Me About A Half Hour To Do At The Con Apearently I Got His Haircut And Haircolor Without Even Knowing About It So I Go The Rest Of The Outfit (mainly the cloak) And BAM! If you're looking for good wigs, try looking for ones from Lacey Costume Wigs.  They're based in New York City, but they supply to a lot of online wig stores and catalogues.  The wig I wore for Gaara was only about $12.  It bugged me a lot on the first day, but we put it on a different way the other two days, and it was fine.

You could try making a papier mache chest about as wide as you are, but have it stick out a little far in the front, so you have room between it and your actual torso.  Then you could put an actual spool in there, and just attach it to your body with an over-the-shoulder and around-the-waist harness.  It might look a little funny from the side, but were you planning on wearing an Akatsuki robe or something over it?  If so, that would probably hide some of the bulkiness.

Oh yeah, nikki, the con is on April 10th, I believe.  I have to see how classes and stuff are going, and if I have a job by then, that'll throw another wrench in the plans.  I think I might already have a place to stay, but we shall see.

The top seam of our Kankurou's shoe ripped open on the first day.  Luckily, we'd brought a hot glue gun with us, so she glued it back together that night.  I think it's a good idea to bring needle and thread, hot glue, tape, etc. with you to wherever you're staying, so you can make small repairs if something breaks during the day.

A Diferent Kankuro Gave Me Duck Tape So I'll Just Duck Tape It And Everything And I'll Hide It With The Cut Up Sock xD We Couldnt Really Bring Anything With Us My Kyo Backpack Is Kind Of Small >.< So All We Could Bring Was Food, Digital Camera, Money, Extra Wraps And Thats It =O We Didnt Have A Place To Stay So We Had To Make Due With What We Could Bring Oh And I Just Remembered That We Went Up To The Top Floor One Day In The Same Elavator As You Guys Then When The Other Elevator Came Back You Told Me And My Friends That You Would Wait For The Next One Lynn And Me Felt Really Bad About That XD I Wanted To Go Back Or Wait And Say Sorry D: But Sami Wouldnt Let Us :x

Alright the second time painting my bone sword made the first layer of paint come off....so I paper mached it with paper towles and it is about the right color....I don't think I will have to do anything else with it when it dries....maybe sand it but I don't think I will have to paint it.
