I've been blowing it off way too long.
Maybe I'll get a parent to take me to a fabric store and get some Renge colored fabric.
Or should I start with Botan!?

Today I got work done on more stuff for Bulbasaur. I have made the ears and am working on sanding them down (made em out of aluminum foil and sculpy) before I paint them. Also, I dyed a pair of ol' jeans green and they are drying now, seeing how that'll turn out. If I like it then I will probably use them in my cosplay, since I don't have enough money to go out and buy a new pair of pants, and then beyond that I may or may not turn them into shorts. =)

Meanwhile, a cruel irony occured during the dyeing process. Of all the places for my glove to break this is what happened:

It doesn't show up as well in the picture as in person but my thumb is green now. IT'S A LIE!!! I am not very good with plants... Well, not as good as a bulbasaur should be, at any rate. Neville would be so dissapointed in me. *sad*

soundninja - Botan or Renge? Uuuuum... okay, heads is Botan, tails is Renge...Yes, I am flipping a coin. .... Heads, Botan gets my vote. XD I am not very much help, sorry.

So I'm going to Joann's on Saturday, as well as Value Village. I need to get an iron-on transfer for my Engie shirt logos. Does anyone know of a brand that will work really well so that I can get a bright yellow on my light blue shirt?
I'll probably also see if I can get wire for the Beautifly hair things, too, and I'm pretty sure I already have felt.

I missed the Pokemon attack discussion, but I think I'll get some gold glitter for Beautifly's stun spore.

anyone know what I should do if I want the appearance of no shoes on one of my costumes? I'd wear no shoes (personally I hate them) but I think its like a requirement or something. :/

What I've seen mentioned around various places is to wear sandals or something, but take them off for pictures.

Just remember - ask before ya throw! This comes from years of experience being bombarded by the color guard thinking it was 'cute' to throw their glitter makeup at people. >>; Plus, some people's cosplays might not call for glitter, haha.

just spent 3 hours sewing the hood attached to kairi's dress thinger.
it was very tedious dfghj, but its done xD;

i also finished the shirt mamimi wears under her jacket, its a white t-shirt with a red star painted on it & though it sounds very easy--
i spent the longest time adjusting the painters tape i was using to mark out the edges of where i was going to paint the star so it was symetrical >__>;
i had to google "how to draw a perfect star" lol.

i still need to go out & find a jacket i can alter for mamimi.
& i need to get the wood for my keyblades guh.

going to at least start sewing kairi's halter top tomorrow hopefully~.

Oh yeah, of course! When I first got into cosplay, I heard horror stories of crazy teenagers throwing things around and breaking costumes, as well as glomping and hugging without asking. I hate things like that.

The glitter will probably just be for photos anyway, as a prop. One of my friends loves to do photography, and I love to model for her, so it could create some interesting shots.

I just did the math, and I think I'm going to have to order another stem of green roses for Maria's bustier. I don't have enough big ones left.

At least I have the ribbon for the bow on her shoulder, instead of what I thought was satin ribbon and turned out to be stiff black seam binding.

I'm going to JoAnn's later today to get yellow fabric paint for my friend's jacket, also gonna start working on it & hopefully finish it this weekend. Woot for her and I being the same measurements, save for chest and height xD;
While I've over there, I'm gonna be hunting with my mom for some jeans that'll work for Soul's casual. Oh and I finished his wig last night and tried it on. You can see my hair at my temples but I think if I mousse them down before I put on the wig they should stay well out of my way =3 *dances* Another wig to poke people with!

Seriously. It was really big and shiny like satin and the spool said 'Ribbon Offray' on it so I figured it was a satin ribbon. Turns out it was acetate-based satin-finish seam binding.

I just returned some stuff that I never used for my Rhyme cosplay, and got some fleece for my second attemp at gloves for Red XIII. And I found a perfect vest for my secretcosplay...but I forgot to go back to valuevillage after joanns >.> I'm gonna try to get my mom to take me after she's off work. i just hope no one else gets it.

Workin' on sandin' Bulbasaur's ears so that they are all nice and smooth for when I can finally paint them. Dunno what color to get for the paint though since my kryolan hasn't gotten here yet, should be arriving sometime next week - I'm so excited!!!

In the meantime the jeans I dyed with green turned out AWESOME. OMG it makes my green-lovin'-Irish-self verrrrrry happy. I'm very tempted to take a picture and show them off but I feel like I've spammed this thread with too much of myself already, haha! Now, to make them shorts or not to make them shorts, that is the question.

Otherwise, only things left to do:
Buy white fingernail polish for Bulbasaur's claws
Buy clips for ears
Finish hoody (I am so lazy when it comes to sewing...)

Unfortunately, this does not include the most daunting task of my cosplay: Contacts. I'm still fiddling with the idea though I am running out of time. I think I will go through with it though because it would be a shame to be all green and blue with no contrast.

Man, we all have around six weeks to go! I can't believe Kumoricon is sneaking up so quickly. I'm super stoked to see the Pokemon cosplay. Those are always really fun.

I want to post photos, too, but it's troublesome. Haha. Maybe when I have something more substantial? I completely bias-taped one sleeve! I feel so accomplished! Now I need to buy six more packs to do the other one and the rest of the kimono! Hurray?

And... six yards of fabric to still paint. Oy...

I'm too lazy to work on the Boxer jacket for D-chan tonight, sides I'd need to confiscate a table from next door anyways to do it. I've got the bias tape & paint for it though since we went shopping.

I also got the masquerade mask & I've started to paint it. I'm gonna use a mix of arcylics, and 3D pens and feathers & some other stuff we have laying about/got today. It'll be interesting to see what I end up with. I'll have to get the wooden dowel for it later.
Speaking of, it's one of the "full face" masks, so it's got a portion that covers UNDER the chin and I'm wondering if I should cut that off or not? It does fit my face, but the chin piece of it just... feels odd ish. So opinions I would like.

=3 I also got a nice pair of jeans for school *coughcasual cosplay mom doesn't know aboutcough*

Worked on a sign for the SOS dan a bit. The only problem is that I was using an SOS keychain as a reference and not the pictures online so it's a bit messed up

I got my head leaf done (minus painting it if I feel like it) and I've got my leaves patterned, cut out, and slightly put together for tonight. It looks like tomorrow is going to be getting the smaller wires planted and White Mage day.

I give kudos to people working on much more & complex costumes than I am xD I believe you all can finish since it's only a few weeks. Not like it's a weekend or something- that's REAL crunch time.

Keiichi is ending up being the easiest and quickest cosplay I've ever done

I found a red shirt, am using my Meiko wig, and Shay's helping me hem a baggy white button up shirt for it. All I need now is black pants, a belt and a silver bat~<3

I got stuff for Red XIII's belt, and I tested a bunch of paw styles, and I failed at all of them, so I decided I'm not gonna do paws. Maybe I'll buy some online. I also got some stuff for commisions and the vest that I saw at value villiage. I just need to sew a new zipper on it.

Archer from fate stay night is done done done. lol

Sesshy just got a whole lot harder.

Saber needs some touch ups.

Zero...I really hate that mask, but its 90% done. Just need to add the purple or blue front. Costume is done minus some hemming in the waist.

Inu Yash is done except for fixing the wig

Suzaku good an done. finished the boots today.

All in all I'm nearing th ending point.Thankfully...except for Sesshy.

Veraca - Love the yellow lips on the mask, that's cool. Though, unless the paint splotches are a part of the mask I'd suggest painting over those with some white or tryin' to remove them.
Kuri - Oh my gosh you have so much! I look forward to seeing them all completed. =)

Okay, so I am actually wearing my green jeans (for Bulbasaur cosplay) now and I can't decide if they should remain jeans or become shorts. Sooooo - I turn to you, my wonderful people! Here are pics... and yes, I totally coulda taken pictures of them on the hanger but where would the fun in that be??

I had fun with text too... So! They fade to more of a blue on the bottom because that was so dark there the dye didn't take as strongly. The jeans are loose enough to make decent shorts (they're boot cut, not skinny/rude fit) but I can't make up my mind and would adore some opinions. Thanks much!!!

This is the new magatama earring for ryofu. needs glazing and then i have to put it on the earring then supper glue the hoop then i'm done. its a clip on, dont have piercings.

And clip-ons are life savers. I have to wear them for Irvine. Why that dude's gotta wear earrings I got nooooo idea.

EDIT: OMGosh!!!! My kryolan came today!!!!!! I totally wasn't expecting it because the tracking thing said they had only been processed outta Florida but HERE IT IS. I will do a test run after I get some sponges or something to apply it.

Now, to NOT lose them before Kumoricon! @_@;

Mei- the splotches are actually the 3D pens to add texture. It was very dull and had no shimmer to it at all without them- paint too. And the paint wouldn't mix to get the colors I wanted, so I decided to use the 3D pens and dot them and line them for finer details. The white odd dots are the white 3D pen dots. I'm depressed you can't see the yellow under the lips cause it looks really cool, but the orange & pink were too light and would make it look too harsh on the white. The purple & green turned out the best though =3 But the green says "no" to photographing xD; I'll try again if you wanna see.
Oh and as for the pants, Mei, I'd say the ankles of them look to turn blue. So maybe dye bath them again to fix it, or turn them into shorts... If you make them shorts though, how long would you be going? Capri, knee, shorter shorts..?

XD I hattte clip-on earrings. They hurt so much, but that's cause I actually have my ears pierced... To each their own? ^_^

More progress from moi. I'm cranking it out as much as I can.
Started D-chan's boxer jacket. It's more or less done as the base. I have to wait for the glue on the knots to dry (cause they hate me....) and then I have to sew or glue on the hem edges all the way up the sides. Then once that's done I get to attack the base with the yellow fabric paint for the designs~ ^_^

And since I have the red fabric out, I'm starting Soul's red pants. I don't know if they'll make it to kumori since I don't think I can find a good match... Maybe I can make a T-shirt version of his jacket as a mock, or take a black t-shirt, trim it's sleeves and base with yellow and then paint on the soul head on the back..... Maybe. Not sure.

I bet the mask looks astounding in person. =D And my heart jumped happily a bit at the combo of "purple and green" (fav colors). I will definitely be on the look out for your mask at the con, the details sound really cool.

I was thinking about dying the pants again but I kinda don't mind the fading to blue, especially since Bulbasaur is like, an odd combo of blues and greens... the only reason the green took so well to any of the jean is because the jeans were faded lighter up on the thighs. And if I cut them it'd be at knee length. I'm fiddling with the idea of shorts, especially after wearing these things today - so hot. x_X;

And clip on earrings DO hurt, horribly, another reason Irvine's costume is surprisingly uncomfortable. But, hey, saves me from having to pay money for holes in my ears I don't really want. XD
