I'm like in shock I found the yellow fabric. XD I'm gonna maybe try to start working on his black jacket tomorrow. I barely have enough black x_x; I hope it works.

*sigh* I wish I had red contacts. I -might- just ask my mom if she'd be willing to buy them for my birthday. Might not though considering money issues... but we'll see. I'm gonna go with prob not for now, but wouldn't kill me to ask.

Getting a little worried about the time that I have. I was working on my White Mage socks yesterday and then my boyfriend went to bed when I needed another set of hands, so I couldn't finish them. I'm hoping to get them done tonight with my Mom and start my armor for Cassandra.
Too much homework from school though! I'm not going to slack off to get cosplay done and ditch my homework, but I knowk I'm not going to finish Cassandra in time. I mean, I guess it doesn't matter since I'm going to Akicon in November, but I really want to have it for Kumoricon. I'm too slow to make costumes, I want everything to be perfect. Baw...
I'll still be working on it so I won't have as much to do when Aki rolls around, but I kinda want to have another cosplay for Kumoricon, and I'm not sure what I can do that won't take a ton of work like Cassandra and still be cool.

EDIT: I'm just canceling it. I'm worried about rushing too much and then screwing something up. School should always come first, especially when I'm spending too much money for it.
Now I have three months to finish Cassandra and Lammy (and Lammy will seriously only take me about a week to finish).

Most of them slim down your stomach and make your boobs look bigger but this one actually flattens everything. I am quite happy. Its 20, and it works just as well as about three sports bras, so I am hoping if I wear a sports bra under it it will flatten me out more

Which Target, and where? I need one of these for my Meru costume, and the only stuff I've been able to find has been online.

friday i am ordering my contacts! brown for Yuuki and Light, Sharingan for Itachi.

i just hope they fit my iris's. my family is known to have abnormally large iris's, and i mean that quite literrally >.>

and i need to look into the most convenient way to dye my light wig i swear when we ordered it it was suppose to be more brown!!! hmm i might just get a brown sharpie and rubbing alcohol and use the spray method. i don't want it to dark...

and i gotta order a new yuuki costume. mine is a little big. if the one i order is a bit small then i will just give it to shanime and use my bigger size one. i can always alter my bigger one but i am to lazy too.

FINALLY I finished D-chan's jacket. The fabric paint just has to dry now. I couldn't make the leave/fire pieces identical on each side, but it looks pretty cool either way =3


I also am about halfway done with Soul's jacket now. I sewed the first sleeve on incorrectly so I had to take it all out x_x; Biiii-zzzuuuuuuu Anyway, I've got the second sleeve on sewed correctly I think... I've got the other one pinned on and have to sew it. I also have to sew up the edges and stuff and then I'll have to pull in the cuffs, make the base area & collar x_x; And then I get to do the two Soul heads & the pockets... Maybe I won't make the pockets functional since I've never done them before...

Its mostly of trying to figure out how it magically fits her. I mean I can't get the damn top over my breasts no matter what I do, and I'm not sure how I'm going to keep the pant legs up. I could get the double sided sticky costume tape but I can't seem to find any easily or that's cheapish. And the little things for it is whats killing me because their so time consuming. x_x

Elastic for the legwarmers is my suggestion.
As for the top, why not make it tight like it should be, but have a zipper in the back?

x_x This dang jacket... I wanna burn it. Least this sleeve. I gotta re sew it & lengthen both of them. I'm tempted to just make both of Soul's sleeves wide at the base and like... use a hair tie or something to make them tight at the wrists -_- And the way I did it, I've got this ODD thing of a shoulder-pad looking thing at the shoulder GRRRRR. I dunno how to fix it. Maybe once I'm done killing the sleeves, I'll cut the fabric to how it should be and sew it like that...

Made more progress on my 'Leafeon Gijinka' cosplay....



This is just the form of the tail so ignore the ugly fabric/color, the plan is to buy a bunch of fake leaves from the craft store and cover the fabric so it's like I actually have a leaf for a tail (whether that will actually work or not though has yet to be seen...) =]

After altering Soul's jacket it's getting closer to done x.x After the paint dries, my next question is if I I want to cut the fabric and glue it on for the 2 soul heads on it, or paint them.. Hmm.... *ponders*

I also need to decide if I want pockets or not too.... @.@ How easy would you all say they are to make & sew on (no sewing machine)?

My Red XIII wig came today! I'm so happy! I will start styling tomorrow or something. And I decided not to do the moving ears this year, maybe some other time, but I just won't have enough time. I'll post pics of my progress/wig soon. Oh, and tomorrow, I hope to go to joanns to get new fabric for Satoko, I got the wrong color last time.

So I decided to drop Meru. I don't have the time or resources to make her uniform. I'll probably do it off-con, and wear it to a meetup or something, but Meru is not coming to Kcon '09.

Instead, I've decided to do a lady spy. I have a formal black dress that's sort of 50's/60's pinup style, which I'll accessorize to make more spy. I have pretty much everything, but I need to get some detail props, like a cigarette case. I'm also going to have a fake cigarette holder to add some lady-like class. I'll probably also print out some con-specific masks to wear around.

I've got the supplies for Beautifly's wings, which I'll probably make tomorrow.

Progress looks great so far everyone~ My new Organization boots and Lavi wig just came in, so when I get back to Oregon from Missouri I'll style the wig and do those boots. My gloves for Maria came in too, but those aren't too pressing since I still have a skirt and other things to finish before doing those. After all, if worse comes to worse time-wise I can wear them without the design cut into the top hem. My boots for Lavi are coming some time this week too, and I still need to take in my pants once I find them.

Transformers has also taken over my mind. So if progress starts showing up of, say, a giant robot? This is actually normal for me.

Soul's Jacket looks amazing!

Got Botan wig in, now I just have to style it. I'm done pinning and cutting my Renge dress (with edits for the poofy sleeves, thank god for my mom).

My friend is making an Organazation Roxas, and is trying to make a good wig. So, me being the spiky queen (of down here), she asked me to get a wig and spike it. So, of course I said ok, and this is the wig I think I'm gonna make her get for me to spike.

@ Sound- The wig itself looks good, but I think you'll want something longer and thicker. Try something that's closer to shoulder length. I know it sounds stupid, but that's what my Roxas wig started as when I got it from eBay. I did all the trimming & styling over the course of re-doing it like 6 times. (And I'm still not done persay.) If you don't have enough thick wefts especially around the top & temple areas, you'll run into the problem of being able to see the base of the wig through your spikes, and you don't want that.

Soul's jacket is more or less done now =3 I've got the 2 heads glued & painted on, the pockets are sewn in, too. I'm waiting for the paint to dry for the collar's yellow bit, and one part of the pockets. Once it's dry, get to paint the other bit of the pockets. And THEN I get to fuss with those DANG shoulders *shake fist*

Today I got new boots for Meiko and a belt for Keiichi. I'm pretty much done I think, I just wish I hadn't left all my cosplay down in Oregon! :,D

I've been in a sewing funk (a.k.a sewing everything BUT my cosplay for k-con), mainly because my friends tetsuro jacket was giving me a headache. But tonight I sat myself down in front of my sewing machine and forced myself to sew it!



It was my first time sewing bias tape on the proper way, and by golly I will never go back to the way I used to do it! This takes some time but it sure is worth it
I got to fix the bias tape in a few places, and iron it, but besides that its done!

Now I just gotta work on Tetra and Link! I'm so on top of it this year *lol*

@veraca - your soul looks awesome! Do you think you could show a clearer photo of the shoulders? Maybe one from the front?

Veraca, what if you flipped it inside out and then pinned it where it needs to be fixed? THat way when you take it off, it's probably tailored to the way you need it.

Pencil, what's the proper way of sewing on bias tape? I'm sewing on yards of the stuff on mine, and I just kind of winged it.

Also the bias tape I used didn't have one side that was long enough so I had to iron a new fold into one side of it, haha. That is why it took so long for me.
