I have the keyblade a good 98% done. ^_^ As done as it's gonna get in terms of carving >>;

I still have the rest of Jack's head to do and then seal it. His tie has 2 & 3 white stripes cause during the main cutting process my friend's dad decided to try and cut off that spike >>;

That is my favorite keyblade! O.o It looks great! I'm gonna have to get pictures of you!

It's also really heavy. But that's okay because I don't care!

@veraca: Your Halloween keyblade is (excuse the crude-ness) kick butt. O_O  You will definitely be getting many people (including me) to ask you for a picture. 83

This afternoon my liquid dye came, so I went ahead and dyed my (official) Mio armwarmer. : D  I was in the cosplay-mood so I went ahead and finished my second coat of paint for Mio's cane. As soon as I go to Hidamari's house and borrow her hot glue gun to put clips onto the hat (instead of the rubber band I have been using...) my Mio costume will be 100% complete! This will be the first time I feel like my costume is done to the final detail. (Anna, Kagome, and Mii were complete-ish.)

Also, I had a question to ask you guys: What could I do for the metal piece around the tassel on my Anna beads? (That would give me my second 100% costume.) (pic: http://www.quizilla.com/user_images/D/Devilgurl66653/1060541674_CWINDOWSDesktopanna.jpg)
I can't find anything that would seem to work. (Tried Jo Ann's and Michael's.)

You could make it out of plastic sheeting or craft foam. That's one way.

Or you could try using something like a thimble, if you could punch a hole in the top of it so the fabric could go through. Might be tough though.

Hmmm, I have a ton of ideas running through my head, just can't put words to them yet. I'll post if something comes to mind.

@Ellizabeth: Instead of metal, you could paint a wooden bead (that's what I'm doing for Red XIII's beads) or you could get one of those earing things that are big and make big holes in peoples ears. You could also make it out of sculpy. I have some leftover silver if you would like to use some.

I also have a question. For those who know Red XIII and such, what arm does he have the design on, or is it on both? I can't find any consistant pictures...

Thanks. ^^  Is there such a thing as sparkle/golden-colored clay? O.o

And yes. I might give the craft clay a try if there is the right color. My father and I tried cutting the top of a miniature golden-colored bell (like a thimble), but it ended up damaging the metal and making it so jagged that it would have ripped the tassel easily.

He has several designs, so it depends which one you're talking about. Look here: http://thelifestream.net/wp-content/uploads/red-xiii-portrait.jpg. He has a band design on his back left leg, he has his XIII tattoo on his front left leg, and some other design on his front right leg. Here's another: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/thumb/d/dd/Red_XIII_Nomura_art.jpg/800px-Red_XIII_Nomura_art.jpg

Yep, it's available at Joann's or Micheal's~

it's like yellow/gold colored with gold sparkles in it. Fimo Effect is the name of the clay.

I thought about a bead, but the tassel knot is too big. Dx  Good idea, though. :3  And what are the earring things? Also, I'll be at Rachel's tomorrow so if you are at your dad's maybe we can meet up and talk a bit. ^^

When I looked, it was on the left arm, but I'm not sure if it's both or not. x.x

It's the front legs I'm confused about. Do the both have the XIII tatoo, or just the left one? If only the left one, then what is on the right?

The earring things Nyahaha mentioned are called "Gauges" or "Plugs." You get them at Piercing Studios and Body Jewelry shops. They can be made from wood or metal, but they come in all different sizes. Like this: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=35432357&albumID=3617506&imageID=62704416. They aren't all solid, a lot have holes through them.

And no, the XIII is only seen on the left. The right side has that design in the photo I linked to: http://thelifestream.net/wp-content/uploads/red-xiii-portrait.jpg

Sandshrew snarl. I need to fix the stitch at the bottom so it isn't UGLY. I found out I do need to use an overcast.

...I think the fumes of this paint's getting to me.. oO; You say it's good? Really? I think the camera does it more justice than that keyblade deserves. It's my favorite too, yes, but it's all... uneven. Really the only GOOD thing on it is the Jack tie! I see too many flaws with it T-T Namely the neck bit.. I dunno how to fix that via effect with paint.. Can't really. Oh well I guess. Like I said, I plan to make a MUUUUCH better one. With wood that isn't cement in disguise.

But many thanks anyhow~

^_^ Either or! The paint's still not dry enough on the white "skull" bits to paint or draw on the face so I gotta wait. Probably till tomorrow.

I'm pretty much done with my costumes. My last problem is figuring out a shirt for christmas Roxas to go under the jacket.. I guess I could just close the jacket and hold it shut with the pins if I can't find anything but that seems too cheap almost.... x_x; I'll have to fish out that silk-white shirt and try that.

Awwwsome dying job =3

DO NOT SHARPIE! Bad idea, trust me. I sharpied on the markings for Pride!Ed once... biggest cosplay mistake I ever made. They rubbed off on my jacket and made me look like I had severe sunburn. XD I'd say body paint or regular paint. Maybe a good make-up.

I suggest perhaps some form of tape, or perhaps paint or nail polish even... But yeah, sharpie rubs off a LOT. My friend drew an awsome symbol of her Envy costume and slept.. and well half of it was on her face....

lol that happened to me, too. I had drawn smileyfaces all down my wrist.

The problem with paint is that I'm allergic to most of it. I break out in little red dots and thats no fun xD Maybe I'll end up just making arm bands...

Okay so if your skin is alright with make-up and clear nail polish I suggest that, make the design with something black and seal it with nail polish, Everything comes off with nail polish remover so it's pretty easy.

M'kay, here's a pic taken with a camera phone because there's no batteries for mine and I was too lazy to plug in the other digital camera:

~With Veil on~

The veil is NOT as solid as it looks; that's the lighting. Anyway, that's what I've got on Yuna so far. And a list of what I still need to do:
- Iron the dress to get the wrinkles out
- Hem it again so it doesn't end up like Garnet's dress(still need to hem that)
- Get the feathers
- Add the feathers to the 'M'-shaped front and the wings
- Make the wing-base
- Make or buy the necklace
- Get carpet tape to keep the dress up w/o straps
- Get plastic straps just in case
- Make her Nirvana staff
- Make the bouquet and flowers in the wings

If anyone has seen Yuna in her Wedding dress before, they should probably know why it would be hard to keep that dress up. @.@ Without tape along the whole edge out the front-top part, I'd be hanging out all over the place. >.> (In those pics, I'm keeping it up with ducttape. XD)

Ducttape is such a good friend! :3
I'm sure Yuna's using magic to keep hers up.
If not, she'd be using ducttape, too! >3

Mitsukai, I'm pretty sure that Fredericks of Hollywood sells adhesive skin tape for such needs as strapless gowns and such. They sell a lot of weird little things like that. Carpet tape sounds flat out painful! Yeowch! A strapless bra would be good, too. There's lots of different types of bras and things out their for all sorts of neckline and back cuts. It's kind of impressive what people come up with.

Or there's pasties, but that's getting a little on the weird side for me XD;

Don't use carpet tape. GOOD LORD DON'T USE CARPET TAPE. There's a reason why it's used for carpets and not skin, and that's because it's a heavy-duty adhesive that shouldn't be used on flesh. In fact, I think there's warnings on the tag the roll comes with.

Beyond that, use lingerie tape. It keeps anything up and can be found in any underwear store or department of a larger store.

XD Alright, when I go out to get the last bit of what I need, I'll make sure not get carpet tape. It was suggested when I was looking at other threads about the gown. At one point, I actually considered gorilla glue tape. Thank the gods of video games that the sides of her dress are covered by the wings; takes a load off of my back. There's actually things like skin tape? Wow; I didn't know what. I'll make sure to get some. As for my other cosplays, here's what I got:

Garnet
- Need to rehem the dress
- clean the dress
- remake the top
- add the beads to the top
- reconstruct the Tiger Racket
- Figure out wow to defrizz the wig(spray-in conditioner?)
- fix the necklace
- Fix the crown
- remake the hairband
- maybe make a swimsuit version

Nagisa
- cut out the pattern
- alter the pattern to add sleeves
- make the petticoat
- make the dress
- add ribbon to the tie
- find a new wig or spray-on red stuff(like you find in Party city)
- Find the brown lace-up shoes

Laguna
- May or may not make a gun or buy a toy gun for him.
- Buy a back-scratcher
- Clean the PJ bottoms
- make the dog-tags

Yay for scrap fabric! I actually added one more costume to my list for Kumori-con because my friend gave me 1 1/2 yards of the most gorgeous deep red stretch twill. I wasn't going to do this for kcon, but I found a wig that I can pass off as Sheryl Nome's hair for now, until I can get a proper one :3

Here is the dress

Also it was my first sucessful invisible zipper!! Horrayy!!!

And the wig I am working on:

In person the wig is a very very very pale pink... so I figured it kind of works D: For now... It also started out as super long and straight with long bangs.

Now I just have to do a million details to finish and a few commissions! Bleh, haha.

Sheryl Sheryl Sheryl- PENCIL IS DOING SHERYL NOAM? And you make such a pretty one, too. I was thinking of doing one of her outfits for next Sakuracon. Possibly Diamond Crevasse, if I can ever memorize that song.
