Do you guys think that I should get pink contacts for Botan?
I'm not sure whether or not it's that important to the costume or not.

with only 11 days until the con it would be a little risky to order them now XD
but hey, if you have to money, I guess its worth a shot. But it's not a big deal if you don't have them.

I'd say go for the contacts if you know you can get them before the con.. but with contacts, I'm not exactly sure what the process of creating them is, but if it takes a week to make and process the order, then shipping, you could be cutting it really close.

Contacts +s and -s:
+ They get me in character
- They're expensive
+ They make my character more acurate
- I could be cutting it really close
- I've never worn them before.
- They could make me look REALLY weird.

Try asking icymelon. I got mail ordered my purple contacts from her, and they're really nice. I believe her's are only 12 dollars as well. (There are also lots of tutorials online on how to take care of and put in contacts.)

Got so much done in the last like hour. I almost completely sewed The Ike plushie in one sitting of Being human(which was only one episode). And I also had sewn another part of Meg's shirt before that during the episode as well. I really need to figure out a way to make/get the harness part of the shirt. And if I want to make it a bodysuit thing or make it a separate thing.

@doofer
I luff you...so much. T_T I'm so happy your cosplaying her. I love that series and that character is amazing. ^_^ You look awesome as her.

I'd vote against glue+paint idea for eyebrows.. But that's only cause I like the natural shaping of my eyebrows XD I use some sort of eye liner or lip liner pencil that's white for my eyebrows. I don't know what to do about Roxas- I'll just call it good. It kinda adds like odd depth that my eyes are gonna be dark anyway from the makeup.

If you do it thin enough and take it off with warm-hot water it should be fine and not pull out more than 5% of the hairs if that.. You kinda would need to let the paint & glue get soaked enough to rub off gently like liquid instead of forcing them off.

Elmer's glue and acrylic paints both come off in warm water with a little rubbing. It's perfectly fine and won't rip out a single hair. Your eyebrows are made of sterner stuff than that. Yeesh.

Speaking of which, do Demyx's eyebrows match his hair? I don't think they do. If they do I'm gonna have to glue and paint my brows too, otherwise I'll have quite the Legolas effect going on.

If I recall, Demyx has a darker dirty blond eye brows to his lighter hair... His hair seems a pretty natural change of dirty blond to light blond if I remember right...

But yeah, acrylics comes off nicely. I had my hand covered in black earlier today and it washed off with a towel rub and warm water.

Acrylic paint comes off of skin really easy. It kind of itches, though.

I'm going to have to find skin putty for mine. I really don't want to shave half of my eyebrows off. Thanks to 2007 Gaara for that tip!

As a progression update, I got the Medicine Seller's necklace mostly done, his mirror prepped for stenciling, and his obi just a little more painted. The obi is taking a really long time.

OOH! You keep the top hat on the same way a Queen Esther keeps her crown on- with comb clips! Basically they're little combs that can be glued or sewn into something that you want to stay, then you comb it into the hair where you want it and clip it closed! Like a barrette that combs itself in.
Oooh, thank you! I'll definitely try that. :3

And... starting today, I am a host~ <333

All I need to do now is hem the pants, get my haircut, and, er... figure out an efficient way to bind. x.x (Andand, I tied the tie on myself for the very first time ever trying to tie one and got it on my first try. =w =)

I use 2 sports bras, on backwards, then a ace bandage on top, then a sports bra regular. And they both are like a size too small.

I use ace stretchy self stick bandages with a compression shirt over it. I was surprised how flat it made me - and I could still breathe. Though I think I need 2 to really cover the chest so I can move better. It likes to slide down though and that bugs me >>;

Since I had nothing else to do, while it was still cool ish, I took some gag shots of "teen" Axel? XD;

It was advertised on eBay as an Axel wig, but it came in waaay too short and didn't have enough around the nape for the spikes there. So after messing with it, I just styled it into a Daisuke wig and I guess it works as a teen Axel?

Really considering buying Cosplaywig's Sheryl wig and EMS-ing it here. Besides putting the bow on Maria's shoulder bit and fixing my sitar, I'm not doing much this week. I could make one of her outfits in a heartbeat. Srsly. Must resist, but I want to siiiiiiiiiiing D: I also already have quite a few costumes already lined up.

But I want to siiiiiiing (and not have a giant skirt or worry about a wardrobe malfunction in the process)

Any votes?

But so many costumes D':

ok well when i got my wig from cosworx i got extenison and stuff then i parted the wig in the bac then made a hair line with the extensions by sewing. so it could cover the wig cap...
then i started putting the pigtails up chunk by chunk. really hard, you have to pin your wig to the wig head to make it stay.

then i sewed in more extension by the bang line and on the lining of the cap. then i chopped some inches off then i put up the left ove hair in the pigtails. theni used alot of hair spray.

hard process it was my first time oing this but the wig came out sooo good! took me 3 days.

I'm curious cause I found a nice lavendar wig for sale that could work should I want to do a costume for Sakuracon...
Oh well I've only got enough to buy 1 more costume then I'm done buying for a while - like a year at least xD; So I want the next one to be really good that I like.

Aw that's too bad. I hope you can get the fabric! ^_^

@ PaperRoxas: I know what you mean, but I make it a point to go to at least one con a year now. It's my breaks from other busy things and it'll be fun ^^ Besides, all my cosplay money is pretty much out of my food money &/or transportation money that I don't use anyway.... Either or, I'll be getting at least 1 more costume for Sakuracon and probably a wig then call it good with what I have. I'm plotting to get a brown wig that can work for my Yuna costumes so I don't look so weird with my hair growing out.

Any one know how to make your -real- hair twist into the ringlets? The curlers don't work for me... All I've got is hair spray, hair glue, some moouse, gel, a variety of clips, toilet rolls (if i have to >>;) and a blow dryer x_x; Any tips?

try a curling iron. Keep it straight up and down so one end is pointing to the ground and the other to the ceiling and then wrap your hair around it.

Just in case that wasn't confusing enough I took a picture :P
