apparently one of the artists from AA had like $2000 worth of stuff stolen. 0_0

@cassi
You made me laugh at the little thing you said which made me have a coughing fit-is sick- but man that was funny. XD

I'd post my S-con album but I sort of made it friends only. :/

Did you swim in the Sheraton pool? Brrrr xD

Yea the hot tub was freezing. Other then that playing with the beach ball was pretty fun. Almost killed myself walking back barefoot on the marble floor. Roommates thought it would be fun to steal my sandals. XD

I'ma get my half of the Baccano! photos up by Friday. Anthony, you should send me the ones that kyle took on your camera sometime or something.

@Maki- Oh lord! I'm glad someone was able to help, I was over in Beaverton last night. Were you able to get in your house last night? Also we should hang out again soon since all of our Sakuracon plans fell through and since going to goodwill and stuff before con was cash.

Here are a few things that weren't so smooth:
-The programming director and wired manager both dislike me.
-The setup for DDR was really sloppy.  They put it on 1 song, free play, which made it take forever to get on the machine and pick your song.  It should have been on 1 song, event or 3 songs, event, with Extra Stage turned off.  Whatever though.  I'll just forgive that as them not having a lot of experience with conventions.

1) Tell me where I said I disliked you. I don't appreciate you saying things like that without backing things like that up. Not cool, especially since I just started reading the forums here like TODAY. If you have problems, you talk to me.

2) I've had it as one song since I ran the arcade back in 2005. 3 songs is going to take you longer to wait. You also have to keep in mind the DDR experts are just a small niche of people we have to cater to in gaming, when we plan these things out, I have to look at EVERYONE. That said, I had to fight (read: order) with my gaming manager and wired coordinator to get that DDR tournament to happen on Friday in the first place. Telling me I have lack of experience with 5 years of working conventions is an insult to which I do not appreciate.

Jon, first of all, I have contacted you on the Sakuracon forums at least once addressing your apparent hostility seeking to resolve any personal politics that might be hindering us from operating in a collaborative manner.  Furthermore, if one of the first things you encounter on a new forum is a complaint about you, perhaps you should consider fixing the problem, rather than trying to start an argument.

Second, you didn't run the ddr tournament.  Kevin and Amber did.

Show me where I said I ran the tournament. The people running the wired were going to NOT have a DDR tournament. I had to essentially tell them why that was a bad idea.

I shouldn't encounter airing of "this guy doesn't like me" and any public forum, especially from a moderator. You're the face of the convention on these forums and expressing your opinions is not a wise idea. IF you want to discuss this further, please feel free to email me and clear this bad air up. Saying I claim to dislike you on a public forum, especially when representing a convention that is closely tied to the one I staff for, make both conventions look bad. I'm sure you do not want to demean either convention, yes?

I'm asking DancingTofu and I, Jon to finish the rest of this in private, as it's primarily a personal dispute. If either feels that anything more needs to be clarified publicly, please contact me.

Also, there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with a moderator. That fact shouldn't have been brought into the discussion.

Turns out I have Good Friday, specifically the Friday that the first day of Sakuracon falls on, off of school! That's probably the only upside to going to a Catholic school now, not missing school for a con.

I'll probably be Bishop, some form of Sheryl Nome, I know I'll be General Tiedoll and some form of Lenalee. Then Maria might make an appearance. Might. Probably not, if I really think about it, but you never know.

So yeah! Lots of D.Gray-Man still, some Macross Frontier and some DOGS. This is gonna be a bitchin' con.

I've noticed the Rennissance is always the cheapest - we got it for 99 a night last year. Service and the rooms were nice, and it's only a two block walk to the convention Center.

I'm looking into booking again there this year.

Just FYI for those who asked ^^

I stayed at the Paramount last time and it was fairly nice for the price.  We booked our room kind of late though. . .  Eek, I should probably book my room for next year. @_@  You can book your room without registering for the convention.

I believe SakuraCon has badge pick up for pre-registered people on Thursday night but at-con reg starts on Friday.  It's hell, too.  Oh God.  Last year we were in line for 5 hours. . . We finally got to the front, and the computer system went down.  Not their fault, but it sure did suck.

I'll try and get there on Thursday and do the whole getting-badge thing if I can.

For us minors, does the adult at con with us have to be related to us? I know we have to have the parent permission slip too in any case but, yeah.

Actually this Portlander is hoping to get up to Seattle and experience Sakuracon some day. From what I've heard it sounds like it's really awesome. Not to mention a buddy of mine goes there PaladinCecil, known as PaladinElric among the Risembol Rangers.

I love the LOCATION.  If there's nothing going on at the con, there's so much shopping and touristy stuff to see too.   It's in a nice area that I don't feel threatened in (the hobos had some creative signs though) and there was so much fun stuff to do besides the convention.  Sci-Fi and Music museum, a small theme park, several malls, Pike's Place. . . It was great. :) And my favorite band was playing at a club down the street.  Ha ha.  Awesome all around.

Yep, your adult has to be attending the convention for Sakura-con, but it doesn't have to be a parent, as long as your legal guardian signs the permission form.

Its funny, Seattle is a very exciting place-until you live there. I live right above Kinokuniya and Wajimaya where I could get a buss anywhere downtown and everyday Im all "meh nothing to do"....or it could be because Im poor. >_>

As I also realized at KC the Seattle hobos are not NEARLY as viscous as the ones in Portland. Yelling at everyone and following us G-damn! >_<
