you don't need a keyboard to play techno, GH III proved you can use the guitar controller for synth parts.

I got to borrow RB 2 until Friday! I'm so going to play the **** out of it! I only have a few challenges left, hopefully I can get all the songs when that happens. ok sleep time for me.
Don't say it out loud!  I'm trying to get them to add a MIDI module. . .

It's an electronic music format generally associated with synthetic music played on a keyboard.

Techno =/= Rock. the name of the game is RockBand, not TechnoGroup. Hence the lack of Techno.

A rock band can be technoy but I think guitar hero would be the better place cause then it just needs to have a guitar sound in it.

Rock is a musical subculture that defines and includes 30 or 40 different genres, including Techno.

Not really. Maybe synth rock can qualify, but not much else.

Note the difference.

Wikipedia is not a legitimate source on musical history.  Music literature classes are.

So back on topic here, is anyone else as irritated as I am that the guitar hasn't been improved? I saw all these improvements they were gonna do online and then I played the 360 version and the guitar was exactly the same just a different color. The drum set is even almost the same. The only difference is the bass pedal is reinforced with metal (thankfully) and the drums are more responsive. I heard that you can plug another bass pedal in for double bass, is this true?

Double bass would be cool, movable drum pads and a hi-hat and crash would also be good; I'd be able to rock out if I could put all the drums in the right place.

The drum set is laid out exactly the same. No different. You can apparently buy a cymbal pack, but I don't know anything about it other than you can buy it....

Maybe it's a function similar to doubles on DDR that just gives you more buttons to press or something.  That would be way sexy, but I doubt they'd be that cool.

That's exactly what I was thinking, especially since I doubt they wrote two seperate not charts for every song to accomodate the cymbals. Either that or they would just be another way to hit green or red. Instead of a cymbal sound being made by hitting a drum you could make it with a cymbal to make the whole thing more realistic. But it's all just speculation until I see it.

The cymbal pack basically gives you a yellow, blue and green cymbal. So yes it just makes it feel a bit more realistic. I didn't know they sold them as a pack though, I think you can buy the RB 2 drum set with or without them then if you buy without them you can buy them for it later. It would be awesome if each cymbal was it's own color though. and why is no one talking about Rock Band 2 things in the actual Rock Band 2 topic?

but but but, I made the original topic! Oh I was going to ask if anyone knew how to change your username? I don't like my "guitarherolover32". Do I have to delete it and rejoin? I hope there's a way to just take out the "lover" part of it.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to rejoin. Maybe try talking to one of the mods to see if they can work some internet magic.
